2. Components

The ThermoPro TP65C package includes the following items:

  • 1 x Base Station Unit (Receiver)
  • 1 x Remote Sensor (Transmitter)
  • 1 x User Manual (this document)
  • 4 x AAA Batteries (Note: Batteries may not be included in all packages. Please check your specific product packaging.)

The remote sensor is designed to be rain-proof. For optimal performance and to prevent water ingress, always place the remote sensor upwards so that rain does not enter through the vent holes at the bottom. These vent holes are crucial for the sensor to accurately and quickly detect environmental temperature and humidity.

4. Setup

4.1. Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery compartment of the remote sensor.
  2. Slide the channel selector switch inside the battery compartment to your desired channel (1, 2, or 3). For the first remote, any channel can be selected. For additional remotes, select an unused channel.
  3. Insert 2 AAA batteries into the remote sensor, observing the correct polarity markings. Replace the battery compartment cover.
  4. Open the battery compartment at the back of the base station.
  5. Insert 2 AAA batteries into the base station, observing the correct polarity markings. Replace the compartment door.

Note:

  • Do not mix old and new batteries.
  • Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon zinc), or rechargeable (nickel cadmium) batteries.
  • For maximum performance, use good quality alkaline batteries.
  • A low battery icon will appear on the base station display when battery power is low.

4.2. Synchronize Remote Sensors with the Base Station

Each time batteries are replaced (in either the base station or remote sensor) or if the connection is lost, follow these steps to re-pair the units:

  1. Position the remote sensor near the base station.
  2. Once batteries are installed in the base station, the RF signal icon (located on the upper left of the base station display) will flash for 3 minutes, indicating synchronization mode.
  3. If 3 minutes pass and the RF signal icon is no longer flashing, press and hold the CHANNEL/SYNC button on the base station for 3-4 seconds until the RF signal icon flashes again.
  4. Install batteries in the remote sensor (if not already done) and wait briefly, or press the TX button inside the remote sensor battery compartment. The remote sensor's temperature/humidity will then appear on the base station display, confirming successful synchronization.
  5. If you have additional remote sensors (up to 3 can be registered), repeat steps 1-4 for each sensor.
  6. If multiple sensors are registered, press the CHANNEL/SYNC button on the base station to select the desired remote channel to display permanently. Press CHANNEL/SYNC until a circular arrow appears under the channel number on the LCD, indicating auto-scroll mode (channels will cycle every 5 seconds). Press CHANNEL/SYNC again until the circular arrow disappears to stop cycling.

Note: When synchronizing additional remote sensors, the unit will cycle through channels for the first three minutes. After this, you can select a specific channel or auto-scroll mode.

4.3. Placement

Proper placement ensures accurate readings and optimal wireless transmission:

  • The indoor base station (receiver) should be placed in a well-ventilated indoor area, away from vents, heating/cooling elements, direct sunlight, windows, doors, or other openings that could affect readings.
  • The remote sensor (transmitter) can be placed on a flat surface indoors or outdoors. Ensure it is within the transmission range of the base station and has minimal obstructions.
  • Both the base station and remote sensor can be wall-mounted.

6. Troubleshooting

Hints & Tips

If the receiver does not connect to the transmitter, try the following steps:

  • Press and hold the CHANNEL/SYNC button on the base station, then press the TX button on the transmitter.
  • Relocate the base station and/or the remote unit until a connection is established.
  • Signals from other electronic devices may cause interference. Place the base station and receiver away from such devices.
  • The transmitter may not function properly in extreme temperatures due to battery power. Replace the batteries or wait for more moderate weather conditions for the unit to resume proper function.
  • If the base station is attached to a refrigerator or a metal object by a magnet, the transmission range may be shorter. Remove the base station from the metal object or place the base station and remote sensor as close as possible.
  • If the humidity reading is lower than 10%, it will display "LLL".

7. User Tips

  • For consistent readings, ensure both the base station and remote sensor are placed in stable environments, away from direct drafts or heat sources.
  • Regularly check battery levels, especially for the remote sensor, as low batteries can affect transmission range and accuracy.
  • When clearing MAX/MIN records, remember that "ALL TIME" refers to data since the last manual clear or battery change, while "24 hours" refers to the last 24-hour period.
  • If you experience intermittent connectivity, try repositioning the remote sensor slightly or ensuring there are no new obstructions between the units.
