3. Setup Instructions

  1. Inspect the Pump: Before installation, carefully inspect the pump and power supply for any signs of damage.

  2. Attach Hose: Connect one end of the provided PVC transparent hose to the water outlet of the pump. Ensure a secure fit.

  3. Position the Pump: The pump is designed for submersible use. Place the pump entirely underwater in your fish tank, aquarium, or fountain. The pump features suction cups on its base for stable fixing to a smooth surface.

  3. Power Off: To stop the pump, simply unplug the power supply from the electrical outlet.

Safety Precautions:

  • This is a submersible pump designed for water only. Do NOT attempt to pump oil, wine, or any other liquids.
  • The maximum water temperature should not exceed 35°C. Pumping hotter water will cause damage and may lead to burning.
  • Ensure the power supply voltage does not exceed 12V. Connecting to a 220V power source will damage the pump and is a safety hazard.
  • Never run the pump dry (without water) as this can cause the motor to overheat and burn out.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Kamoer Q500 pump.

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the pump's inlet and impeller area to prevent blockages from debris, algae, or fish waste. The pump is designed to handle some debris, but regular cleaning is essential.

  • Disassembly: Unplug the pump before attempting any cleaning or maintenance. Carefully remove any covers or filters to access the impeller. Clean with a soft brush and fresh water.

  • Cable Inspection: Regularly check the power cable for any signs of wear, cuts, or damage. Do not use the pump if the cable is damaged.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Kamoer Q500 pump, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

Problem Possible Cause / Solution
Pump not starting or weak flow
  • Check if the power supply is properly connected and plugged in.
  • Ensure the pump is fully submerged in water (or water inlet filled if used on land).
  • Inspect the water inlet and impeller for blockages (debris, algae). Clean if necessary.
  • Verify the water flow adjustment knob is not set to minimum.
Pump making loud noise
  • Ensure the pump is fully submerged. When diving, the sound is small (no more than 20 decibels). When used on land, it should not exceed 30 decibels.
  • Check for air trapped inside the pump. Gently shake or tilt the pump to release air bubbles.
  • Inspect for debris caught in the impeller.
Pump overheating / burning smell
  • Immediately unplug the pump.
  • The pump may be running dry. Ensure it is always submerged or has a filled water inlet.
  • Check if the water temperature exceeds 35°C.
  • Do not attempt to pump oil or wine.
Pump connected to 220V power
  • The pump is designed for 6-12V DC. Connecting to 220V AC will cause severe damage and is unsafe. Discontinue use immediately.
FAQ section with questions and answers regarding pump operation: Q1 Can you drain the water? A: No, this is a submersible pump. If it is drained, it will lead to the inability to cool the movement and cause the machine to burn. Q2 Can it be used in land? A: If used in land, should be placed below the water level. It needs to be filled with water from the water inlet before use. Q3 Is the sound loud during operation? A: When diving, the sound is small, no more than 20 decibels. When used in land, no more than 30 decibels. Q4 Guarantee quality? Is it genuine? A: This submersible pump is developed and produced by Kamoer Fluid Tech(Shanghai) Co., Ltd., 8 years experience exempting you from worries.
