Introduction

Setup

1. Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the X5 unit. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the USB charging port on the side of the X5 unit and to a suitable USB power source. The charging indicator will show the charging status.

2. Mounting the Headset

Attach the mounting bracket to your helmet. The accessory kit includes Velcro pads for secure attachment. Once the bracket is in place, slide the X5 Main Unit onto the bracket until it clicks securely. To remove the clip mount, push backward and downward on the unit.

3. Connecting Speakers and Microphone

Connect the Hifi speaker with boom and button mics set to the 3.5mm headset & mic jack on the side of the X5 unit. Position the speakers inside your helmet over your ears and the microphone near your mouth for clear audio.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press and hold the power button (marked with a power icon) until the indicator lights turn on.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the power button until the indicator lights turn off.

2. Bluetooth Pairing

To connect your X5 headset to a smartphone:

  1. Ensure the X5 unit is powered on and in pairing mode (usually indicated by a flashing light).
  2. On your smartphone, go to Bluetooth settings and search for available devices.
  3. Select "GEARELEC X5" from the list to pair.
  4. Once connected, you can play music and manage calls.

3. Music Control

Use the jog dial (rotary knob) for music playback control:

  • Play/Pause: Press the jog dial once.
  • Next Song: Spin the jog dial clockwise.
  • Previous Song: Spin the jog dial counter-clockwise.
  • Increase Volume: Spin the jog dial clockwise and hold.
  • Decrease Volume: Spin the jog dial counter-clockwise and hold.

4. Call Management

  • Answer Call: Press the jog dial once.
  • End Call: Press the jog dial once during a call.
  • Reject Call: Press and hold the jog dial.
  • Auto-Answer Call: Press the "A" button once to toggle auto-answer on/off.
  • Connect to 2 Phones: The X5 supports simultaneous connection to two mobile phones, ensuring you don't miss calls while riding.

5. FM Radio Function

The X5 includes a built-in FM radio with a frequency band of 87.5-108 MHz.

  • Turn On/Off FM Radio: Press the "A" button twice to switch the mode to FM radio.
  • Search Stations: Press and hold the button with a phone icon for 2 seconds to search for radio stations. This process may take 15-30 seconds.
  • Switch Stations: After searching, the device will play one of the stations. Spin the jog dial forward or backward to switch between stations.
  • Adjust Volume: To increase or decrease the volume gradually, spin the jog dial forward/backward and hold it.

6. Voice Control

The X5 supports voice control for compatible smartphones.

  • Activate Voice Assistant: Press the "B" button to wake up the voice assistant (e.g., Siri) on your phone.
  • Note: This function requires your phone to have a voice control feature and must be enabled on your phone for the headset to utilize it.

7. Night Warning Light
