- No continuity beep: Check if the circuit resistance is below 50Ω. Ensure the "SEL" button has been pressed to select continuity mode.
- "OL" displayed: This indicates an over-range condition or an open circuit. For resistance measurements, ensure the circuit is closed and within the meter's range.
If issues persist after checking these points, consult the full user manual (PDF) or contact customer support.
10. User Tips
- Battery Type: The ANENG ST180 uses two AAA 1.5V batteries. Always have spares on hand for uninterrupted use.
- DC Current Measurement: This model is primarily designed for AC current measurement via the clamp. For DC current, it measures DC voltage. If you need to measure DC current, ensure you are using a multimeter with that specific capability and follow its instructions carefully, typically involving breaking the circuit and inserting the meter in series.
- Understanding "OL": When "OL" (Over Load) appears on the display, it means the measured value exceeds the selected range or the maximum capacity of the meter for that function. Adjust the range if possible, or understand that the value is simply too high for the device to measure.
- Safety First: Always prioritize safety. Double-check connections, ensure power is off when working on circuits for resistance or diode tests, and keep fingers behind probe guards.
