1. Introduction
The SONOFF DUALR3 is a flush-mounted Wi-Fi smart dual relay switch module designed to transform any standard switch into a smart switch. It enables wireless remote control via mobile devices or voice commands, integrating your home appliances into a unified smart network. The DUALR3 supports three distinct working modes: Switch Mode, Motor Mode, and Meter Mode.
This module is ideal for controlling various devices, including lights, home appliances, and motorized facilities such as roller shutters, window shades, blinds, and awnings. Its double two-way control mechanism allows for independent control of two separate appliances.

2. Safety Information
Please read and understand all safety instructions before installation and operation. Improper installation or use can be dangerous or cause damage to the device or connected appliances.
- Protection Against Electric Shock: The DUALR3 has passed additional tests (IEC 61032) ensuring no deformation and no live parts are accessible under normal operating conditions.
- Adequate Mechanical Strength: The device has undergone a 9-blow impact test, showing no damage and no exposed live parts.
- Insulating Material: The PCB, base, and cover are made from fire-retardant PC V0 material, passing the glow wire test (IEC 60695-2-4) at 850°C, with flame extinguishing within 2.8 seconds.
- Resistance to Heat, Humidity, and Aging: DUALR3 has been tested in harsh environments, including 1 hour at 100°C, without affecting its function or exposing live parts.
- Overload Protection: You can set maximum and minimum values for voltage, current, and power. If an appliance operates outside these parameters, the DUALR3 will automatically cut off power to ensure safety.

DUALR3 vs DUALR3 Lite Comparison
The DUALR3 Lite version removes power metering and related functions but retains motor and switch modes. It can still control roller motors, but note that the roller motor requires the travel limit function.

5. Package Contents
The package typically includes:
- SONOFF DUALR3 Dual Relay Module
- Mounting Base
- User Manual
- QC Pass Card

6. Setup and Installation
The DUALR3 is designed for in-wall installation behind existing switches or DIN-rail mounting. Professional installation is recommended. Always ensure power is disconnected before performing any wiring.
6.1 Physical Installation
The module can be installed perfectly for in-wall boxes or mounted on a 35mm DIN-Rail using its detachable mounting base.

6.2 Wiring Diagrams
The DUALR3 requires a neutral wire for operation. Ensure all connections are secure.

7. Operation
7.1 App Control
Once paired, you can control the DUALR3 and connected appliances from anywhere using the eWelink app, provided the module has an internet connection.

7.2 Manual Control
The DUALR3 supports single-pole dual control, allowing you to use traditional wall switches to control connected appliances. This means you can still operate your lights or motorized facilities manually even when the smart features are active.

7.3 Working Modes
The DUALR3 offers three distinct working modes configurable within the eWelink app:
- Switch Mode: Standard on/off control for two independent channels, suitable for lights and general appliances.
- Motor Mode: Designed for controlling bi-directional AC motors. This mode allows for precise control of roller shutters, blinds, etc., including setting open/close percentages and calibration.
- Meter Mode: In this mode, the DUALR3 continuously supplies power to the connected loads and focuses solely on monitoring and metering power consumption. The relays remain on, and their state cannot be changed via the app or external switches.

7.4 Scheduling and Automation
Utilize the eWelink app to create schedules and smart scenes. For example, you can set your curtains to open at a specific time in the morning or integrate DUALR3 with other SONOFF products for complex home automation scenarios.

8. User Tips
- Versatile Use: The DUALR3 is compatible with a wide range of scenarios and devices, offering high flexibility for smart home integration.
- Motor Control: It provides easy and effective control for motor loads, making it suitable for various motorized facilities.
- Tasmota Compatibility: For advanced users, the DUALR3 (ESP32 version) can be flashed with Tasmota firmware, allowing for greater customization and integration with other home automation platforms. Bluetooth devices can also be linked easily after flashing.
- Google Assistant Integration: The eWelink app, which operates the SONOFF DUALR3, is compatible with Google Assistant for voice control.
- Remote Control: You can control the DUALR3 from anywhere in the world via the eWelink app, as long as both your phone and the DUALR3 have internet access.
9. Troubleshooting
- Motor Calibration Warning: If you encounter a message stating "The motor requires calibration," navigate to device settings within the eWelink app to calibrate the motor.
- Switching Working Modes: To avoid damaging the motor, ensure the motor is disconnected before switching to another working mode (e.g., from Motor Mode to Switch Mode). You will be prompted to type 'confirm' in the app to proceed.
- Neutral Wire Requirement: The DUALR3 requires a neutral wire for proper operation and Wi-Fi connectivity. It will not function without it.
- Inductive Loads (e.g., Air Conditioners): While the DUALR3 has a total resistive load capacity of 3300W/15A and 2200W/10A per gang, its motor load is specified at 10-240W/1A. Inductive devices like air conditioners can have high starting currents. Always check the specific power requirements and starting current of your inductive appliance against the module's motor load rating to ensure compatibility and prevent damage.
- No Zigbee Support: The DUALR3 uses Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz) for communication and is not a Zigbee 3.0 device.
10. Maintenance
- Keep the device clean and dry.
- Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or humidity.
- Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself. Refer to qualified personnel for service.
- Regularly check for firmware updates through the eWelink app to ensure optimal performance and security.
