Read this manual carefully before use, and retain it for future reference.

Product Overview

Xiaomi Self-Install Smart Lock is a multifunctional IoT smart lock that supports multiple unlocking methods such as fingerprint, password, and phone app. Also, the lock can be integrated into the Matter ecosystem. A diverse and smart home experience can be created through smart Matter devices on Google, Alexa, Apple, and other platforms.

The lock only supports the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi frequency band. If a Wi-Fi connection fails, check whether the router is set to the 2.4 GHz frequency band.

Installing the Lock

1. Adjusting the knob bracket

1. Remove the knob bracket from the lock.
2. Use the screwdriver to adjust the size of the knob bracket to fit the lock knob.Note: Simultaneously adjust clamps on both sides of the bracket and select a size close to the lock knob to ensure the lock can function properly.
3. Install the knob bracket back onto the lock after adjustment.

2. Adjusting the height of the lock
Remove the four screws installed on the sides of the lock, adjust the bracket according to the height of the lock knob, and select a proper height to reinstall the screws in place.

3. Confirming the installation location
Align the lock with the knob for installation, and turn the lock knob to unlock and lock.

Note: When performing this step, do not remove the double-sided tape in advance to avoid affecting locking and unlocking due to misalignment.

Installation method

Note: Make sure the installation location does not interfere with normal locking and unlocking.

4. Sticking and installing

1. Use the included cleaning cloth to clean the installation location, apply the included adhesion promoter to the installation surface, and wait for 1 minute.
2. Remove the protective film at the back of the mounting bracket, align the bracket with the lock knob, press the lock firmly for 2 minutes, use adhesive tape to further secure it, and remove the adhesive tape after 48 hours.

5. Installing the magnetic door sensor
Use the paperboard for magnetic door sensor installation to install the magnetic door sensor on the door frame. Make sure the distance between the sensor and the lock ranges from 20 mm to 40 mm.

Note: Vertically place the magnetic door sensor, and keep it parallel to the lock. Otherwise, the auto lock feature will not work.

Before Use

Open the battery cover at the bottom of the lock and insert the lithium-ion battery. The status indicator turns white, and the lock makes a “beep” sound.
Note: When using the lock for the first time, it is recommended to fully charge the lithium-ion battery before use.

Replacing Battery

If the battery level of the lock is low, a low battery alert is triggered every time the door is unlocked. Remove and charge the lithium-ion battery as soon as possible.

Installing the Keypad

The following tools need to be prepared before installation.

1. Confirming the installation location

1. Before confirming the installation location, add the keypad on the accessory management page in the Xiaomi Home app, and test unlocking and locking with the keypad after completing the keypad addition following the  instructions. After testing, fix the mounting template sticker at the installation location of the keypad, and use the pencil to mark the locations of screw holes.Note: It is recommended to install the keypad within 5 meters (16.4 feet) of the lock to ensure that the keypad can be normally connected.
2. Insert the ejection pin into the bottom of the keypad to remove the mounting plate.

2. Selecting an installation method

1. Installing the keypad on a smooth surface
   Use the cleaning cloth to clean the installation location, remove the protective film on the back of the mounting plate, stick the mounting plate onto the installation location and press for 1 minute to ensure secure installation.
2. Installing the keypad on an uneven or hard surface
   Use an electric drill to drill holes with a diameter of 6 mm at the screw hole locations, insert the wall plugs, and use screws to fix the mounting plate.

3. Place the AA batteries into the keypad, and align the keypad with the mounting plate for installation.

Replacing Battery
Insert the ejection pin into the bottom of the keypad to remove the keypad from the mounting plate, replace the batteries, and reattach the keypad to the mounting plate.

Connecting with the Xiaomi Home App

This product works with the Xiaomi Home app. Use the Xiaomi Home app to control your device, and to interact with other smart home devices.
Scan the QR code to download and install the app.
You will be directed to the connection setup page if the app is installed already. Or search for “Xiaomi Home” in the app store to download and install it.
Open the Xiaomi Home app, tap “+” on the upper right, and then follow the instructions to add your device.

Note: The version of the app might have been updated, please follow the instructions based on the current app version.

Adding the Keypad

Open the lock page in the Xiaomi Home app, go to accessory management, and add the keypad according to the app instructions.
Simultaneously press and hold the unlock/confirm button and lock button for 7 seconds. When the status indicator blinks white, the keypad enters the network configuration mode.

Note: Before adding the keypad, the Xiaomi Self-Install Smart Lock needs to be added to the Xiaomi Home app first.
