Safety Precautions
- Before using the product, read this manual well and use the product safely and correctly.
- Do not use the electrostatic mat in a wet or high-humidity environment or with wet hands. Doing so may cause electric shock.
- The precautions listed here contain important information on safety, so make sure you observe them thoroughly.
Precautions on Use
- For details on how to use the cutting machine, refer to the User's Manual of the machine.
- If you are using the electrostatic mat, be sure to use the electrostatic protection sheet.
- If air enters the gap between the electrostatic mat and the media when loading the media, let the air out before drawing a diagram.
- Periodically wipe the electrostatic mat lightly with a dry, soft cloth.
- Be careful not to damage the surface of the electrostatic mat.
- The electrostatic protection sheet is an expendable item. Please replace it regularly.
- If you are using the electrostatic mat, do not fold the electrostatic protection sheet.
- The method to load the media and tools differs depending on the machine model. For details, refer to the User's Manual of each model.
- The matters described in this Supplies Manual may change without warning.

This is used to secure the media through electrostatic suction.

How to Install and Remove the Electrostatic Mat
The installation method differs depending on the model.
The electrostatic mat is individually connected to the cutting machine.
For Portrait4
Remove Front Cover
Raise the front of the machine, release the lock at the bottom of the machine in the direction of the arrows (➡️), and remove the front cover.
* Please note that the top cover may spring open when lifting the front of the machine.

Connect Electrostatic Mat
Connect the electrostatic mat securely to the machine so that the terminal of the machine and the terminal of the electrostatic mat are aligned.

Load Media
Place the electrostatic protection sheet over the electrostatic mat and load the media.
* Refer to "How to Secure the Media."
Remove Electrostatic Mat
To remove the electrostatic mat, press the button (?) on the left and right of the electrostatic mat and pull it off from the machine at the same time.

For CAMEO5
Remove Front Cover
Raise the front of the machine, release the two locks at the bottom of the machine, and remove the front cover in the direction of the arrows (➡️).
* Please note that the top cover may spring open when lifting the front of the machine.

Connect Electrostatic Mat
Connect the electrostatic mat securely to the machine so that the terminal of the machine and the terminal of the electrostatic mat are aligned.

Load Media
Place the electrostatic protection sheet over the electrostatic mat and load the media.

How to Secure the Media
To prevent the generation of an electrostatic charge, be sure to place the electrostatic protection sheet over the electrostatic mat during use.
Additional Information
- Some media cannot be secured depending on the material. In such a case, use a masking tape to secure it.
- If air enters the gap between the electrostatic mat and the media when loading the media, let the air out before drawing a diagram.
For Portrait4
Place Protection Sheet and Load Media
Place the electrostatic protection sheet (8.5 in. x 12 in.) over the electrostatic mat and load the media.
* Load it by aligning the media with the top left corner.

Press Media and Suction Button
Press the media down lightly and press the electrostatic suction button. The media is secured by electrostatic suction.

Check Suction Lamp
Check that the lamp above the electrostatic suction button (?) turns on and that it is functioning properly.

Adjust Pinch Rollers
Remove the lever (right) of the Pinch Roller Unit, and load the Pinch Rollers so that they sit above the transparent film on both sides.
* Align the left edge of the transparent film against the Guiding Line on the front panel.

Feed Media
With the leading edge of the electrostatic mat panel butted against the pinch rollers (in the direction of the arrow ➡️), check that the pinch roller unit lever (right) are locked, and press the media load button to start feeding the media.

For CAMEO5
Place Protection Sheet and Load Media
Place the electrostatic protection sheet (12 in.) over the electrostatic mat and load the media.
* Load it by aligning the media with the top left corner.

Press Media and Suction Button
Press the media down lightly and press the electrostatic suction button. The media is secured by electrostatic suction.

Check Suction Lamp
Check that the lamp above the electrostatic suction button (?) turns on and that it is functioning properly.

Adjust Rollers
Release the two auxiliary roller locks, release the lever (right) of the pinch roller unit, and position the pinch rollers so that they sit above the transparent film on both sides.
* Align the left edge of the transparent film against the Guiding Line on the front panel.

Feed Media
With the leading edge of the electrostatic mat panel butted against the pinch rollers (in the direction of the arrow ➡️), check that the pinch roller unit lever (right) and auxiliary roller are locked, and press the media load button to start feeding the media.

How to Replace the Electrostatic Mat Roller Guard Tape
If the cutting does not have the proper finish, the roller guard tape may be worn or deteriorated. Follow the procedure below to replace the tape.
Slide Mat Out
Slide the edge of the electrostatic mat in the direction of the arrow (➡️), and pull it about halfway out from the electrostatic mat unit.
* Refer to "How to Install and Remove the Electrostatic Mat."

Turn Over and Pull Out
Turn over the electrostatic mat unit and pull out the electrostatic mat until all of the roller guard tape is visible.

Remove Old Tape
Remove the roller guard tape on the left and right sides.

Affix New Tape
Affix the replacement roller guard tape along the white lines on both sides.
