Installation and Maintenance
Connections (Fig. 1-4)
Refer to the port and symbol legend above for connection types.
Bleeding
Bleeding the oil pump is only necessary with 1-pipe systems. In 2-pipe systems, the pump is automatically bled through the return pipe.
Filter Cleaning/Replacement
Ring Filter (Fig. 5):
- Remove the four screws (4 mm hex key).
- Take off the cover.
- The filter can then be taken out for cleaning or replacement.
Cartridge Filter (Fig. 6):
- Unscrew the filter plug in the cover with a 4 mm key and pull out the cartridge filter.
- If necessary, insert a screwdriver between the filter and plug and carefully twist the filter out.
- Discard the old filter and press a new one onto the plug.
- Reassemble the cartridge filter and tighten lightly.
Changeover Between 1-Pipe and 2-Pipe Operation (Fig. 7-8)
Detailed instructions for changing between 1-pipe and 2-pipe operation are provided in the original document, referencing figures 7 and 8.
Suction Line Lengths
Tables for suction line lengths are provided in the original document. These tables apply to standard fuel gas oil (Heizöl-EL) of normal commercial quality.
Important: When starting a system with empty piping, the oil pump should not be allowed to operate without oil for more than 5 minutes.
Important Notes
- The BFP 20 models are without a solenoid valve. These oil pumps are intended for use only with oil burners.
- The solenoid valve must be replaced after 250,000 operations or 10 years (approved life expectancy).
