Desktop Non-PoE Switch

Connection Diagram:

Desktop PoE Switch/Outdoor PoE Switch

Connection Diagram:

An Internet cloud connects to the WAN Port of a Gateway. The Gateway’s LAN Port connects to a Desktop PoE Switch/Outdoor PoE Switch (via a PoE-in port). The switch can be powered by a Power Cord or via its PoE-in port. Powered Devices (PDs) such as an IP Camera, Access Point (AP), IP Phone, and a PC (laptop) are connected to the switch’s PoE-out ports.

Note:

  1. PoE ports can also connect to non-PoE devices, but only transmit data.
  2. Switches with a standard PoE-in port can receive power from a PSE device via the PoE-in port. Some of these switches also support DC power input.
  3. RP108GE is a reverse passive PoE switch that gets power from PoE-in ports and supplies power to connected devices via the PoE-out port or DC port. The DC port of RP108GE is a power output port. Do not connect it to any power source.
