UNIT SELECTION
NOTE After completing the measurement, the tire pressure units can still be changed by pressing the air pressure units selection button.

NOTE For precise measurement, reset the SmartGauge D2 until the screen displays 
before starting the next measurement.
HOW TO USE AIR RELEASE BUTTON
IMPORTANT NOTE
- LCD display screen will automatically turn off after 30 seconds of non-use.
- 1 ~ 1.5psi may be lost after each pressure measurement.
- For proper use of the Topeak SmartGauge D2, make sure the Presta/ Schrader switch button is fully selected.
- If it’s difficult to engage the tire valve, slide the Presta/ Schrader selector button back from side to side a few times to reset the function. “Re-engage” the tire valve after gauge is reset.
IMPORTANT NOTE
If “HI” appears when measuring, the gauge is over the pressure range.- Press
to reset the gauge. - If “HI” appears when turning on the gauge, the gauge has been damaged.

SETUP GUIDES
- Unbox the Product: When you get the Topeak SmartGauge D2, carefully open the box and make sure the tire pressure gauge, battery, and instruction paper are all inside.
- Put in the Battery: Open the battery box on the back of the gauge and put in the CR2032 battery that came with it. Align the positive (+) and negative (-) sides of the battery to make sure it is in the right place.
- Start the Gauge: To start the SmartGauge D2, press the power button. When it’s ready to use, the screen will light up to show that.
- Pick out the Unit of Measure: You can choose the unit of measurement you want by pressing the unit button, which lets you switch between PSI, Bar, and kg/cm².
- Get the Tire Valve Ready: Make sure that the valve on your tire is clean. Putting the valve cap somewhere safe will help you measure the tire pressure.
- Connect the Valve to the Smart Head: Line up the gauge’s Smart Head with the tire valve. It needs to be pressed hard onto the valve to ensure a tight seal and accurate readings.
- Take a Reading: The tire pressure will be shown on the screen as soon as the gauge is properly connected to the valve. Wait until the reading stays the same.
- Take Note of the Reading: Write down the tire pressure reading and then compare it to the manufacturer’s suggested tire pressure. This can usually be found on the tire’s side or in the owner’s instructions for your car.
- If You Need To, Do It Again: If you’re checking more than one tire, make sure the gauge reads correctly each time before moving on to the next one.
- Turn Off the Gauge: To save battery life, press the power button to turn off the gauge after taking notes.
- How to Store the Gauge: To make sure it lasts as long as possible, keep the SmartGauge D2 in a cool, dry place. Do not store it in direct sunlight or very hot or cold places.
- Check the Battery Life: If the screen is dim or won’t turn on, check the battery. If you need to, change the CR2032 cell.
- Calibration Check: To keep the gauge accurate, it’s best to compare it to a known accurate tire pressure measure every so often.
- Use on Other Vehicles: If you want to use the SmartGauge D2 on a motorbike, car, or other vehicle, make sure the pressure range works with that size of tire.
- Cleaning It Regularly: The SmartGauge D2 should be cleaned regularly to get rid of any dirt or dust that might affect how accurate the numbers are. Wipe the gauge’s body down with a soft cloth.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
- Store in a Dry Place: The tire pressure gauge should always be kept in a dry place so that water doesn’t damage the computer parts.
- Protect the Screen: When not in use, put the gauge in a padded box or case to keep the digital display from getting scratched.
- Do Not Subject the SmartGauge to Temperatures That Are Too High or Too Low: It should only be used in temperatures between 0o C and 85o C. Too much heat or cold can make the numbers less accurate.
- Check the Battery Often: The CR2032 battery uses little power, but it needs to be changed when the gauge stops working or the screen starts to dim.
- Carefully Hold: The SmartGauge D2 is made of strong materials, but it should still be handled carefully to protect the screen and other parts inside.
- Don’t Drop: To keep the gauge from breaking, don’t drop it on hard surfaces. If you can, keep it in a case to protect it.
- Keep it Safe: When you’re not using the gauge, put it somewhere safe that won’t get wet or hit hard, like a tool bag or closet.
- Use as Intended: The SmartGauge D2 should only be used for what it was made for, which is to measure tire pressure. Don’t use it for other things that could hurt the sensor or Smart Head.
- Changing the Battery: If the battery gets low, put in a new CR2032 cell. Make sure the battery is put in correctly to keep the electricity working right.
- Make Sure No Loose Parts Are Inside the Smart Head and Other Parts: Check them for signs of wear every so often. To keep accuracy and dependability, tighten any parts that aren’t snug.
- Check the Connection to the Valve: To get exact readings, make sure the Smart Head is securely attached to the tire valve. If the valve connector comes free, clean it or get a new one.
- Avoid Water: The SmartGauge D2 is made to last, but don’t put it in water or places with a lot of humidity; this could damage the electronics inside.
- Away from Chemicals: Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents on the gauge. They can damage the polymer case or screen.

To obtain warranty service, you must have your original sales receipt. Items returned without a sales receipt will assume that the warranty begins on the date of manufacture. All warranties will be void if the SmartHead digital gauge is damaged due to user crash, abuse, system alteration, modification, or use in any way not intended as described in this operating manual.
