Installation Steps
Step 1: Determine Hole and Anchor Dimensions
The effective embedment depth ($h_{ef}$) is calculated as $h_{ef} = h_1 + h_{nom}$.
1.1 Drilling:
- Drill hole diameter ($d_0$): 4 mm
- Drill bit length: 20 mm
- Hole depth: 4 mm
- Hammer drill setting: 10 mm
1.2 Anchor Selection and Dimensions:
Use Hilti's Profis Engineering software for optimal anchor selection. The anchor designation is typically HST4-R M12 x [Length] with specified embedment depths ($t_{fix,min}$, $t_{fix,max}$) and nominal embedment depth ($h_{nom}$).
Example: HST4-R M12 x 115 with $t_{fix,min}$ 5-50 mm and $h_{nom}$ values ranging from 49 to 94 mm based on the anchor length (L).

Step 2: Prepare the Hole
Ensure the minimum embedment depth ($h_{min}$) is greater than the drill hole depth ($h_1$) by at least 32 mm for all drilling methods (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d).
- 2a: Standard drilling with a 12 mm diameter drill bit.
- 2b: Hammer drilling with a 12 mm diameter drill bit.
- 2c: Percussion drilling with a 12 mm diameter drill bit.
- 2d: For specific Hilti hammer drills (DD EC-1, DD 30-W, DD 150-U) using a 12 mm diameter drill bit. Requires 6 bar/90 psi air pressure.
The condition $h_{min} - h_1 > 32$ mm must be met.
Step 3: Insert the Anchor
3a: Insert the anchor into the prepared hole.
3b: For specific applications, use the HS-SC tool for insertion.
Step 4: Tighten the Anchor
Ensure the anchor is correctly positioned and tightened to the specified torque.
Step 5: Final Tightening
5a: Tighten the anchor to a torque of 60 Nm. The required length for tightening is 19 mm.
5b: Use Hilti impact wrenches (SIW 4AT-22, SIW 6AT-22) or the SI-AT-22 (AT Module) with the SI-S 1/2"-19 L socket for final tightening. The required length for tightening is 19 mm.
Important Note: Maximum tightening torque is 0.5 Nm.
