Product Overview

This document provides detailed instructions for installing the Zowill DK02A smart door lock. Please follow these steps carefully to ensure proper installation and functionality.

Model: DK02A

Before Installing the Lock, Check Door Jamb and Door Preparation

Ensure your door meets the following specifications:

• Door Thickness: 1-3/8" to 2" (35mm to 50mm)
• Backset: 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60mm or 70mm)
• Hole in Door: 2-1/8" (54mm)
• Hole in Door Edge: 1" (25mm)

Verify that the slotted hole is centered in the door hole. If not, adjust the latch accordingly.

Step 1: Prepare the door and check dimensions

Confirm the door hole diameter is 2-1/8" (54mm).

Confirm the backset is either 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60mm or 70mm).

Confirm the hole in the door edge is 1" (25mm).

Confirm the door thickness is between 1-3/8" to 2" (35mm to 50mm).

Step 2: Choose faceplate

Select the appropriate faceplate for your door preparation. Ensure the slotted hole is centered.

Instruction: Rotate and pull the latch as shown to extend the latch.

Step 3: Install latch and deadbolt

Install the latch into the door. Use the provided screws to secure it. A wood block can be used to assist in tapping the latch into place.

IMPORTANT: Keep the latch in the unlocked position before installation.

Verify the latch is in the unlocked position (indicated by a checkmark ✔️) and not locked (indicated by a cross ❌).

Step 4: Install exterior assembly

Route the cable below the latch.

IMPORTANT: The bolt must be in the unlock position. Note the horizontal orientation of the torque blade.

Route the cable through the hole in the mounting plate.

Secure the mounting plate with the supplied screws. Ensure the orientation is parallel to the door edge.

Step 5: Install interior assembly

Do not load batteries until the lock is completely installed.

Remove the battery cover.

Connect the cable and ensure a tight cable connection.

Rotate the thumb turn to the vertical position and insert the horizontal orientation of the torque blade into the interior assembly lock switch.

Secure the interior assembly with the supplied screws.

Test the lock by rotating the thumb turn to see if the bolt can be extended and retracted smoothly.

Step 6: Detect left/right hand door installation

IMPORTANT: This step is required and crucial for the lock after installation!

Battery Recommendation: Use only new and non-rechargeable Alkaline batteries for the best results.

With the door open and unlocked, load 3 AA batteries into the interior assembly.

Press and hold the reset button on the interior assembly using the reset tool provided. Keep holding the reset button until you hear a long sound of "BEEP".

Load the last battery while continuing to hold the reset button. Hold until you hear the long "BEEP". The lock will automatically go into locking position. This allows the smart lock to memorize the orientation of the door.

Install the strike on the door frame.

IMPORTANT: Make sure the hole in the door frame is drilled a minimum of 1" (25mm) deep.
