Safety and disposal
About this document
- The instruction manual is an integral part of the instrument.
- Pay particular attention to the safety instructions and warning advice in order to prevent injury and damage to the product.
- Keep this documentation to hand so that you can refer to it when necessary.
- Always use the complete original instruction manual.
- Hand this instruction manual on to any subsequent users of the product.
Security
General safety instructions
- Only operate the product properly, for its intended purpose, and within the parameters specified in the technical data.
- Do not operate the instrument if there are signs of damage on the housing, mains unit or connected cables.
- Dangers may also arise from objects to be measured or the measuring environment. Always comply with the locally valid safety regulations when carrying out measurements.
- Temperature information given on probes/sensors relates only to the measuring range of the sensor technology. Do not expose handles and feed lines to temperatures in excess of 70 °C (158 °F), unless they are expressly authorized for use at higher temperatures.
- Do not carry out any contact measurements on uninsulated, live parts.
- Do not store the product together with solvents.
- Maintenance work that is not described in this documentation must only be carried out by trained service engineers.
- Use only original spare parts from Testo.
Do not use the probes in a polluted environment (heavily dusty, oil, foreign matter, volatile chemicals).
Disposal
- At the end of its useful life, deliver the product to the separate collection point for electric and electronic devices (observe local regulations) or return the product to Testo for disposal.
Description of the instrument
Use
In conjunction with the compatible data loggers and handheld measuring instruments, the digital temperature and humidity probes form measuring instruments for measuring temperature and/or humidity.
The supplied closed cleaning protection cap (0135 0369) must be mounted on the sensors (0572 2162, 0572 2164, 0572 2165) to protect the sensor from cleaning agents during cleaning activities. The cleaning protection cap has a protection class of IP54. When the sensors are connected with an extension cable 0449 3302, 0449 3306, or 0449 3310, the protection rating of this connection is also IP54.

Commissioning
When commissioning NTC temp. (0572 2162) and temp./humidity (0572 2164 and 0572 2165) sensors, the closed cleaning protection cap must be removed from the sensor. Otherwise, the sensors only measure the internal ambient conditions inside the cleaning protection cap.
Installing the probe on the data logger
- Connect the probe’s TUC connector to the designated jack on the data logger.
- Log the data logger into the testo Saveris Cloud or the local testo Saveris software.
- Configure the probe and the data logger via the configuration menu in the testo Saveris Cloud or the local testo Saveris software.
Digital probes must be connected to the data logger prior to registration of the das logger in the system.
