The built-in atomic clock automatically synchronizes with the WWVB radio broadcast from the US Government's National Institute (NIST) in Fort Collins, Colorado. This ensures the clock is accurate to within one second.
- The clock will automatically search for the WWVB signal upon initial power-up.
- Synchronization typically occurs at night when interference is minimal.
- Allow up to 48 hours for the initial synchronization.

- Put the batteries back into the transmitter, then into the main unit.
- Let them sit side by side inside your home. When both the indoor and outdoor temperatures show on your clock with the same reading, or within two degrees of each other, you can then put your transmitter back outside.
- Keep the transmitter out of direct sun in a dry place.
- Also, keep it away from metal, which can affect the readings.
