The ORICO DPM2P9 is a versatile M.2 hard disk expansion dock designed to simultaneously address data storage and interface expansion needs. Constructed from durable aluminum alloy and ABS material, it features a robust shell and excellent heat dissipation capabilities. This docking station expands your device's connectivity with USB-A, USB-C, RJ45, HDMI, and SD/TF card reader interfaces, while also supporting PD100W power delivery. Its integrated M.2 card slot is compatible with 2230, 2242, 2260, and 2280 size M.2 solid-state drives supporting either NVMe or NGFF protocols.

4. Setup & Instalasi

4.1. M.2 Instalasi SSD

Catetan: The M.2 SSD is not included and must be purchased separately. New hard drives require initialization before use.

1. Buka Kandangna: Gently remove the magnetic suction upper cover of the docking station.
2. Prepare the SSD: Stick the thermal silicone pad onto your M.2 SSD. Then, attach the thermal fin (heatsink) onto the SSD, ensuring good contact for optimal heat transfer.
3. Selapkeun SSD: Align the M.2 SSD with the slot at a 30-degree angle and gently insert it.
4. Amankeun SSD: Place the plastic plug into the notch at the end of the SSD and push it down until it clicks into the SSD's fixing hole, securing the SSD in place.
5. Tutupkeun Kandangna: Carefully close the magnetic suction upper cover until it is securely seated.

4.2. Nyambungkeun ka Alat Anjeun

Once the M.2 SSD is installed (if desired), connect the ORICO DPM2P9 docking station to your host device (laptop, tablet, etc.) using the provided USB-C to USB-C data cable. The device is plug-and-play, meaning it should be recognized automatically by your operating system.

• 10Gbps Ports: Use the dedicated USB 3.2 Gen2 10Gbps USB-A port, the 10Gbps USB-C data port, or the M.2 SSD enclosure for ultra-fast data transfers. These ports can transfer 1GB of data in approximately 1 second.
• 5Gbps Ports: The two USB 3.0 USB-A ports support data transfers at up to 5Gbps.
• Pamaca Kartu: Insert SD or TF cards into the respective slots for data access. These can be used simultaneously.

Connect an external monitor, TV, or projector to the HDMI port to mirror or extend your display. The HDMI port supports resolutions up to 4K at 60Hz, providing a high-quality visual experience for movies, presentations, or extended workspaces.

For stable and fast wired internet access, connect an Ethernet cable to the RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port. This is ideal for environments with weak or unstable Wi-Fi signals.

5.4. Power Delivery (Charging)

The dedicated Type-C PD100W port allows you to charge your laptop or other compatible devices. Connect a PD charger to this port, and then connect the docking station to your laptop. This enables simultaneous charging, video output, and data transfer through a single cable connection to your laptop.

5.5. Mobile Device Usage

This docking station can also enhance the functionality of mobile phones and tablets. For features like reading M.2 SSDs, connecting a mouse, or outputting to a larger screen, ensure your mobile device supports the OTG (On-The-Go) function.

• Do not use chemical solutions (e.g., strong detergents, solvents) to clean the product. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
• Keep the product dry and away from excessive humidity or dust.

Q: Why does the connection keep interrupting after inserting the M.2 SSD?

A: When using a high-power device, to avoid the input interface's power being too low, please ensure a PD charger is connected to the docking station to maintain a stable connection.

Q: Why does the HDMI-compatible port not work properly or cannot reach 4K resolution?

A: First, ensure your host device (laptop, tablet, etc.) supports video output via its USB-C port. Then, try replacing the host device or the HDMI cable for testing. For 4K resolution output, both your device and the HDMI cable must support 4K resolution.

Q: Do both Type-C ports support 10Gbps data transmission?

A: No, the PD100W power supply interface is solely for charging your laptop and does not support data transfer. Only the dedicated 10Gbps USB-C data port supports data transmission.

Q: Why is the data transfer speed not as fast as advertised?

A: The actual operating speed of the product is determined by your notebook's capabilities, the type of M.2 SSD used, and the USB port type it's connected to. For the fastest read and write speeds, an NVMe SSD should be used, and the docking station should be connected to a USB 3.1 Gen2 10G port on your host device.

Q: Why does the device generate heat?

A: SSDs naturally generate heat when reading and writing data at high speeds. The aluminum alloy casing of this product is designed to effectively transfer and dissipate this heat, quickly releasing the high temperatures generated by NVMe SSDs during operation. This is normal and helps maintain performance.

• Maximize Speed: For the best data transfer performance, ensure you are using an NVMe SSD and connect the docking station to a USB 3.1 Gen2 (10Gbps) port on your computer.

• Do not expose the product to high temperatures, low temperatures, humidity, dust, or prolonged direct sunlight.
• Keep the product away from corrosive substances and strong electromagnetic fields.
• Store the product and its accessories out of reach of children. Do not allow children to use the product without supervision.
• Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the product or its accessories without authorization from ORICO. Only authorized service centers should perform repairs.
• When removing any connected mobile device or storage, always safely eject it from your operating system first to prevent data corruption or loss.
• If you encounter any issues during use, please contact your dealer or ORICO Customer Service Center.
