5. Operasi
The GRI8 series relays continuously monitor the current in the connected circuit. When the monitored current exceeds or falls below the set thresholds (depending on the model and settings), the relay will activate its output contact after the configured time delay.
Setting Current Thresholds:
Use the 'Iset', 'Imax', or 'Imin' potentiometer on the front panel to set the desired current threshold for overcurrent or undercurrent detection. Refer to the model-specific diagrams for precise settings.
Setting Time Delays:
- Tt (Tripping Delay): Adjust this potentiometer to set the delay (0.5 - 10 seconds) before the relay trips once a fault condition is detected. This helps to ignore momentary current fluctuations.
- Tr (Power Up Delay): Adjust this potentiometer to set the delay (0.1 - 10 seconds) after power-up before the monitoring function becomes active.
Indikasi Status:
- The Green LED (Un) indicates that the device is powered on.
- The Red LED (R) indicates the status of the output relay. It will illuminate when the relay is active due to a detected current anomaly.
Function Diagrams:

These diagrams illustrate the behavior of each GRI8 model under different current conditions, including hysteresis and time delays (Tr: Power up delay, Tt: Tripping delay).
6. Diagram Kabel
Proper wiring is crucial for the safe and correct operation of the current monitoring relay. Always ensure power is disconnected before performing any wiring.

GRI8-01 Wiring Example:

Figure 6.2: GRI8-01 Wiring Case Example
Dina ex ieuample, the GRI8-01 is used to monitor the current of a cooker and water heater. The output contacts behave as follows:
- 11-14: Normally Open (NO). After an overcurrent event, this contact will close.
- 11-12: Normally Closed (NC). After an overcurrent event, this contact will disconnect.
7. Cara ngungkulan
If the current monitoring relay is not functioning as expected, consider the following general troubleshooting steps:
- No Power Indication (Green LED off): Pariksa suplai voltage connections (A1-A2) and ensure the power supply is active and within the specified voltage range (AC 24-240V or DC 24V).
- Relay Not Activating/Deactivating:
- Verify the current monitoring connections (B1-B2) are correct and the load current is flowing through them.
- Check the set current thresholds (Iset/Imax/Imin) to ensure they are appropriate for the monitored load.
- Review the time delay settings (Tt, Tr) as these can affect when the relay responds.
- Ensure the correct GRI8 model is being used for the desired overcurrent/undercurrent function.
- Intermittent Tripping: Adjust the 'Tt' (Tripping Delay) to a slightly longer duration to prevent tripping from momentary current spikes that are not actual fault conditions.
- Incorrect Current Reading: Ensure the current transformer (if used) is correctly installed and matched to the relay's current range.
If issues persist, consult a qualified electrician or contact GEYA technical support.
8. Tips pamaké
Based on common inquiries, here are some tips for using your GEYA Current Monitoring Relay:
- Understand Your Needs: Before installation, clearly identify whether you need overcurrent, undercurrent, or both types of protection. This will help in selecting the correct GRI8 model (e.g., GRI8-01 for overcurrent, GRI8-02 for undercurrent, GRI8-04 for both).
- Accurate Current Range Selection: Use the potentiometer to select the current range that best matches your application's normal operating current. This ensures optimal sensitivity and protection.
- Time Delay Adjustment: Experiment with the 'Tt' (Tripping Delay) setting to find the right balance between immediate fault detection and avoiding false trips due to transient current changes.
- Not a Power Controller: Please note that this device is a current monitoring relay for protection, not a phase angle power controller. It does not regulate power output but rather detects current anomalies to trigger an alarm or shut-off.
9. Pangropéa
The GEYA GRI8 Current Monitoring Relay is designed for long-term, maintenance-free operation. However, periodic checks are recommended:
- Inspeksi Visual: Mariksa périodik alat pikeun tanda-tanda karuksakan fisik, sambungan leupas, atawa robah warna ka warna.
- Integritas sambungan: Ensure all wiring connections remain tight and secure.
- Uji fungsionalitas: If possible and safe to do so, periodically test the relay's tripping function by simulating an overcurrent or undercurrent condition to ensure it responds correctly.
