PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

  • Ribelle is a simple and compact kit to get around the 25 km/h speed limit on Ebikes equipped with a TQ HPR50 engine. The installation is completely invisible.
  • Ribelle shows real speed on the ebike display as well as data relating to the distance traveled, the average/maximum speed, the remaining autonomy, etc.
  • The levels of pedaling assistance as well as any special profile are maintained.
  • When Ribelle is active, the maximum speed will be given only by the power of the engine thrust added to the muscular force invested.
  • We have designed the installation as simple as possible. All necessary connections are pluggable and can therefore be removed without leaving a trace.
  • The activation and deactivation of the speed limit at 25 km/h is possible with the help of a sequence of buttons on the handlebar control.

SAFETY, RESPONSIBILITY, LEGALITY

  • By installing Ribelle, a relevant safety feature is circumvented: the limitation of engine power as a function of speed.
  • It should be assumed that your Ebike cannot be modified in any way and that the frame, brakes, tires, etc. are not designed for the highest speed.
  • Its installation must therefore be carried out by a specialist (e.g. the manufacturer of the Ebike or an authorized specialist workshop) who will also check the other components of your Ebike accordingly and modify them if necessary.
  • From a legal point of view, we have not been able to definitively clarify whether circulation on public roads is permitted with Ribelle installed but deactivated.
  • We therefore expressly point out that: the simple presence of Ribelle could constitute a crime under the Roads Code.
  • Circulation on public roads with modified bicycles is prohibited by the Roads Code.
  • Modified bicycles may only be used on fenced private property.

DESCRIPTION OF THE FUNCTIONS

  • After turning on your Ebike, an animation will appear on the display informing you of the status:
  • If the speedometer rises from 1.1 km/h to 9.0 km/h within 3 seconds, Ribelle is active and the engine supports you even above 25 km/h.
  • If the speedometer drops from 9.0 km/h to 1.0 km/h within 3 seconds, Ribelle is deactivated and the engine supports you up to 25 km/h.

ACTIVATION AND DEACTIVATION

  • To activate or deactivate engine support above 25 km/h it is necessary to type a different sequence depending on the variant of Ribelle device installed.
  • With Ribelle for Ebike WITH Control on the Handlebar: type the key sequence: – * – + (minus, plus, minus, plus).
  • With Ribelle for Ebike WITHOUT Control on the Handlebar: select assistance OFF and then UP, UP, UP.
  • If the procedure is successful, the following animation will be displayed on the speedometer:
  • If the speedometer rises from 1.1 km/h to 9.0 km/h, Ribelle is activated and the engine supports you even above 25 km/h.
  • If the speedometer drops from 9.0 km/h to 1.0 km/h, Ribelle is deactivated and the engine supports you up to 25 km/h.
  • Type the sequence without pauses. If necessary repeat the procedure.

EBIKE UPDATES, WORKSHOP SERVICE

  • Before delivering your Ebike to the workshop you must uninstall Ribelle otherwise, it will be detected.
  • If you want to update the software of your Ebike TQ you need to uninstall Ribelle (RECOMMENDED!). Alternatively, ONLY with Ribelle for Ebike WITH control on the handlebar, it is possible to set Ribelle in DIAGNOSIS mode.
  • Please remember that this mode is maintained even after the TQ system is turned off, therefore it must then be deactivated.
  • This could be the case that when you turn on the ebike the animation on the tachograph (1…9 / 9…1) is no longer shown.

TO ACTIVATE DIAGNOSIS mode you need to:

  • Select the highest assistance level.
  • Enter the following key sequence on the handlebar control: – – – + + + (minus minus minus plus plus plus).
  • To confirm activation, the SW version of Ribelle is shown three times alternating with zero.
  • Now the Diagnosis mode is activated and it is possible to proceed with the maintenance/software update of the ebike.
  • TO EXIT DIAGNOSIS mode it is necessary to repeat the same activation sequence and wait for confirmation.
  • Type the sequence without pauses. If necessary repeat the procedure.
  • Please note: On e-bikes that only have three levels of assistance (Trek) it is necessary to reach the OFF level by holding down the MINUS button.
  • Example: minus, minus, MINUS EXTENDED, plus, plus, plus.
  • Please note: An update to the ebike could cause the Ribelle to malfunction irremediably.SPEEDFUN-RIBELLE-TQ-HPR50-Unlocking-Device-FIG-9

ALWAYS USE CASC

  • Given the speeds that can be reached by bicycle thanks to this device, the use of a protective helmet is strongly recommended.SPEEDFUN-RIBELLE-TQ-HPR50-Unlocking-Device-FIG-10
  • IMPORTANT Once the SpeedFun speed unlocking device has been installed, the electric bicycle, exceeding the 25 kmH limit, is compared to a moped and as such, if it circulates in public places, needs approval/registration, is subject to payment of the road tax and insurance coverage, must have the plate, can not circulate on the bike paths and the driver has the obligation of driving with license and must use the helmet.
  • Furthermore, the driving of a motorized bicycle equivalent to a moped that does not comply with the aforementioned provisions involves the administrative seizure of the vehicle and pecuniary penalties that vary depending on the offense committed.
  • The SpeedFun release system manufacturer declines any responsibility for any damage caused to the pedal-assisted bicycles on which the device is mounted as well as for direct or indirect damage to people or property.

Warranty

  • Please note that the modification to the bicycle invalidates the manufacturer’s warranty.
