Operation

Installing Drivers

You can open the USB drive and install CH343.exe
(Software->Drive->CH343SER.exe)
Note: If you have installed drivers before, you can skip this
step.

Searching for Machine COM Ports

Windows XP: Right click on My Computer, select Manage, and click
Device Manager.
Windows 7/8/10/11: Click on Start -> right-click on Computer
-> select Management, and select Device Manager from the left
pane. Expand Ports (COM&LPT) in the tree. Your machine will
have a USB serial port (COMX), where X represents the COM number,
such as COM6.
If there are multiple USB serial ports, right-click on each and
check the manufacturer, the machine will be CH343.
Note: A USB cable is required to connect the control board to the
computer in order to see the port number.

Connecting line

  1. As shown in the figure below, connect the power cable and
    Type-C cable in turn, and then press the power switch, the power
    indicator will be always on.

  2. Connect the Type-C cable to the USB port of your computer as
    shown below:

Open the GRBL-Plotter software

Open the USB flash drive (Software -> GRBL-Plotter.exe) and
click on the GRBL-Plotter.exe icon to open the software.
Note: If the GRBL-Plotter.exe software inside the USB flash disk
does not open or does not respond, you can open the browser, enter
the official URL
https://github.com/svenhb/GRBL-Plotter/releases/tag/v1.7.3.1 to
find the following interface, and then according to re-download the
installation package.

Connecting software

Note: If the correct port number is not selected, Unknown will
appear in the status bar, indicating that the software and the
machine’s control board have not been successfully connected.

FAQ

What should I do if the power indicator light does not turn
on?

If the power indicator light does not turn on, please check if
the power cable is properly connected and if the power switch is
turned on.

How do I adjust the pen clip?

To adjust the pen clip, gently move it up or down based on the

5. Operation
5.1 Installing Drivers
You can open the USB drive and install CH343. exe (Software->Drive->CH343SER.exe)

5.2 Searching for Machine COM Ports

5.3 Connecting line
1. As shown in the figure below, connect the power cable and Type-C cable in turn, and then press the power switch, the power indicator will be always on.

Note: It is recommended that the writing machine be placed in the direction of the diagram above so that the X-axis of the computer screen is in line with the X-axis of the writing machine and the writing can be easily typeset.

5.4 Open the GRBL-Plotter software
Open the USB flash drive (Software -> GRBL-Plotter.exe) and click on the GRBL-Plotter.exe icon to open the software.

5.5 Connecting software
1. First of all, open the GRBL-Plotter software, the following “COM CNC” box will pop up, first click on the “Close” button at 1, and then click on 2 to select the corresponding port number (COM8 on my computer), and then click on 3 “Open” button, and finally 4 status bar will appear “idle”, indicating that the software has been successfully connected to the control board. Then click the “Open” button at 3, and finally “idle” will appear in the status bar at 4, indicating that the software has been successfully connected to the control board.

Note: 1. If the correct port number is not selected, “Unknown” will appear in the status bar, indicating that the software and the machine’s control board have not been successfully connected.

2. If you do not find the “COM CNC” window, you can put your mouse on the taskbar of your computer, as shown in the following figure:

2. You can check whether the machine can move normally by dragging this orb button with the mouse at 1 below. Then the numbers of the axes at 2 will change accordingly.

5.6 Create Text
1. Put the mouse on “G-Code Creation”, the option box will pop up, click “Create Text”, for text editing.

2. You can edit the content you want to write in 1, then choose your favorite font type in 2, and finally click “Create G-Code” in 3.

5.7 Placement of text
First you will need to press the text with the folder and then move the pen to the top left corner of the lesson planner. The orientation of the lesson planner and the position of the starting point of the pen are shown below:

5.8 Adjusting the pen clip
Adjust the knob by hand so that the tip of the pen remains 3~4mm from the paper surface, as shown in the figure below:

Note: The pen drop position is usually in the range of 4~6mm, 5mm is the best.
Then click on the software at 1 “Pen Down”, observe whether the pen into the paper 1mm, otherwise continue to adjust, followed by clicking on the 2 “Pen Up”, and finally click on the 3 “Zero XYZ “. As shown in the figure below.

2. If you find that the pen does not touch the paper, you need to click the height of the pen, set to 7~8mm. as shown in the figure below:

Tip: If you find that this rotary block is loose or displaced, you can use a 2.5mm screwdriver as shown:

5.9 Running program
1. You need to click on the green button in the upper left corner of the diagram below to indicate that the machine is starting to run the program.
Note: If you encounter problems during the writing process, you can click the “Pause” button at 1 or the “Stop” button at 2, as shown below:
