Spectralink S33 Handset
Quick Start Guide
Note: If a menu, submenu, setting or a function is not visible, it is controlled by a local administrator. Contact them if a change is needed.
Remove the tape protecting the battery contacts before charging. Charge your handset for 4 hours prior to first use for best performance.
Turning Handset On
Press to turn the handset on.
Turning Handset Off
- Hold
until the question “Turn off?” appears in the display.
- Press
to confirm.
Adjusting Speaker/Headset Volume
While on call, press the Volume Control keys on the upper left side of the handset to adjust the volume.
Adjusting Ring Volume
- Press
to enter the main menu.
- Scroll to Audio and press

- Scroll to Ring Volume and press
.
- Press the left or right side of the navigation key to adjust the volume of the ring tone.
- Press to save your changes.
Changing Ring Tone
- Press
to enter the main menu.
- Scroll to Audio and press

- Scroll to Ring Tone and press

- Scroll to the desired ring tone and press the right side of the navigation key to listen to the ring tone.
- Press the left side of the navigation key to listen to the internal calls ring tone.

select the new ring tone.
Off Hook Dialing (Dial Directly)

to end the call.
On Hook Dialing (Pre-Dial)

to initiate the call.

Speed Dial Calls
- Press and hold a key (0-9) for three seconds, until the call is initiated.
Answering and Ending Calls

Call List Calls
- Press the left side of the navigation key to enter the Call List.
- Scroll to the desired name or number, and press

Call Missed Calls
- Press the right side of the navigation key to enter the Missed Call List.
- Scroll to the desired name or number, and press

Phone Book Calls (Local)
- Press the bottom of the navigation key to enter the local phonebook.
- Scroll to the desired name, and press to make a call.

Company Phone Book Calls
- While on hook, press the top of the navigation key to enter the company phonebook.
- Search for a name, press
, then scroll to the desired number and press Dial or

Adding a New Contact to Contacts
- Press
to enter the main menu.
- Scroll to Contacts and press
.
- Scroll to Local Contacts and press.
- Scroll to Add name/number and press
.
- Type the name of the contact using the keys 0-9.
- Scroll to number and enter the directory number/SIP extension of the contact (max. 24 digits/64 characters). Before entering a SIP URI, press and hold # until SIP: is shown.
- Press
to store the name and directory number/SIP extension.
Assigning Speed Dials
- Press
to enter the main menu.
- Scroll to Contacts and press
.
- Scroll to Speed Dial and press
.
- Scroll to Add to Speed Dial and press
.
- Scroll to the desired speed dial position and press .
If the position is occupied, pressto replace the existing speed dial.
- Scroll to the desired contact and press .
Locking/Unlocking Keypad
While on the home screen, press (Left Softkey) followed by the * button to lock or unlock the keypad.
- Silent Mode On/Off
While on the home screen, press(Left Softkey) followed by the # button to turn the handset silent mode on/off. In silent mode there is no sound for incoming calls and notifications.
- Exit Menus
To exit menus and return to the home screen, press.
- Loudspeaker On/Off
While in a call, pressto enable or disable the loudspeaker.
- Microphone Mute On/Off
While in a call, pressto mute the microphone. To unmute the call, press
.
Alternatively, while in a call, pressto mute/unmute the call.
