PICO-N-M-1C Miniature Presence Sensor
User Manual
Safety instructions
Work on the mains supply may only be carried out by qualified professionals or by instructed persons under the direction and supervision of qualified skilled electrical personnel in accordance with electrotechnical regulations.
Disconnect supply before installing!
This device is not to be used to isolate other equipment from the mains supply.
The total number of switchable loads is limited due to high inrush currents of electronic ballasts and LED drivers. In case of a large number of connected loads please use an external contactor.
For all connected loads, proper interference suppression is obligatory (we recommend to use our arc extinction kits).
Read this supplementary sheet and the operating instructions before putting the device into operation. Knowledge of these documents is part of the intended use!
Operation
The device is a remote controlcapable mini occupancy detector for ceiling mounting (interior applications) having a circular detection area.
The occupancy detector controls the light automatically according to people present (movements) and the ambient brightness.
The integrated light sensor constantly measures the ambient light and compares it with the switch-on threshold set in the detector. If the ambient light is sufficient, lighting will not be switched on. If the ambient light level is below the brightness level, a movement activates the lighting in the room.
The detector switches the light off if there is enough natural light for 15 min. or if no movement was detected within the follow-up time.
Further functions can be accessed with our remote control (see accessories).
Mounting
Mounting hints
The connecting cable must not be shortened.
Fig. 3, d
For mounting in luminaires, use the enclosed clamping ring and remove the spring clips.
Exclude sources of interference
Fig. 3, a
In case the detection area of the detector is too large or areas are being covered that should not be monitored, the range can be reduced or limited by using the enclosed blinds (a).
Self-test cycle
The product enters an initial 60-second self-test cycle when the supply is first connected (LEDs flash). During this time the device does not respond to movement.
LED function indicators after each mains recovery
Factory settings active: – white, red, green flash in quick succession for 10 sec.
Standard mode
- Detector programmed – red flashes quickly (2x/sec.)
- Detector not programmed – red flashes (1x/sec.)
LED function indicators
Motion detection – red flashes
Light value higher than switchon threshold: – green LED flashes
Light measurement active: – Green flashes once every 10 s
