Space Facts
Sun
- Over a million Earths could fit inside the sun.
- It takes about 8 minutes for light from the sun to reach Earth.
Moon
- Only 12 people have ever walked on the moon. Would you like to walk on the moon?
- The moon has no wind. You can’t fly a kite on the moon!
Stars

- Mercury is the smallest of the planets. Its size is just slightly larger than EEarth’smoon.
Venus
- The hottest planet in our solar system is Venus. The temperature is over 850°Fahrenheit (450° Celsius).
Earth
- Earth is the only planet that has liquid water on its surface. Earth is composed of at least 70% water.
Mars
- The tallest volcano in our solar system is located on Mars.
Jupiter
- The Great Red Spot on Jupiter is a storm that has been raging for hundreds of years.

Uranus
- Uranus is the only planet that rotates on its side.
Neptune
- The planet with the strongest winds in our solar system is Neptune.
Pluto
