Applicability
This product is applicable to equipment received from Original
Equipment Manufacturers or equipment received from in-service
aircraft within the specified Part Number and Serial Number ranges.
Ensure to provide the aircraft tail number when applicable.
Reason for Service Information Letter
The service information letter addresses incorrect part numbers
on labels attached to some units, specifically the KX 200 Nav/Com
Radio and retrofit adapters. The mismatch does not affect the
functionality of the units.
Solution
- Reference the Service Information Letter in the logbook entry
whenever installing affected units. - Contact BendixKing Tech Support to request new labels. Affix
these labels on top of the incorrect ones and update the logbook
entry accordingly. - Alternatively, affected units can continue to be installed with
incorrect labels until service is required, at which point they
should be shipped back to Honeywell BendixKing for repair.

(1) This service information letter is applicable to the Part Number (PN) and Serial Number (SN) listed in Table 1.

Applicability
(1) This Service Information Letter applies to the PN and SN ranges listed in the effectivity data.
(2) This service information letter is only applicable to equipment received from Original Equipment Manufacturers or equipment received from in-service aircraft. Aircraft tail number should be provided, as applicable. This service information letter is not applicable to excess equipment and equipment removed from parked or dismantled aircraft.

Reason
(1) Some KX 200 nav/com radios and retrofit adapters were delivered with incorrect part numbers on the labels that are attached to the units. There is a subtle difference in the actual PN and the incorrect PN. The incorrect PN only has four (4) consecutive zeros in the PN and the correct PN has five (5) consecutive zeros. The incorrect PN formats were also published in the KX 200 Install Manual in Figure 2-1 that shows a cross reference between the Becker type plate labels and BendixKing type plate labels. The Install Manual is being revised ASAP.
(2) Problem
(a) The PNs with incorrect labels attached to the units do not match the PNs of the affected radios and retrofit adapters. Although there is a PN mismatch between

(3) Solution
(a) If the unit being installed is applicable to the PN label mismatch explained in this SIL, reference this SIL in the logbook entry whenever the unit is installed, or update the logbook entry if the unit has already been installed.
(b) New labels can be requested by contacting BendixKing Tech Support and can be stuck on the affected units on top of the incorrect labels. In this case, an updated logbook entry is needed to reflect the change.
(c) Or the affected units can remain installed with the incorrect PNs on the labels until service is needed and the unit is shipped back to Honeywell BendixKing for repair.

(1) This SIL is intended to raise awareness of incorrect PNs on labels attached to the KX 200 and retrofit adapters. The affected units do not need to be immediately corrected because the issue does not affect form, fit or function. However, the logbook entry should reference this SIL on affected units.
