BATTERY AND CHARGER INFORMATION
Battery and charger safety info
To unplug a charger or an accessory, hold and pull the plug, not the cord.
When your charger is not in use, unplug it. If left unused, a fully charged battery will lose its charge over time.
Always keep the battery between 59°F and 77°F (15°C and 25°C) for optimal performance. Extreme temperatures reduce the capacity and lifetime of the battery. A device with a hot or cold battery may not work temporarily. Accidental short-circuiting can happen when a metallic object touches the metal strips on the battery. This may damage the battery or the other object.
Do not dispose of batteries in a fire as they may explode. Obey local regulations. Recycle when possible. Do not dispose as household waste.
Do not dismantle, cut, crush, bend, puncture, or otherwise damage the battery in any way. If a battery leaks, do not let liquid touch skin or eyes. If this happens, immediately flush the affected areas with water, or seek medical help. Do not modify, attempt to insert foreign objects into the battery, or immerse or expose it to water or other liquids. Batteries may explode if damaged.
Use the battery and charger for their intended purposes only. Improper use, or use of unapproved or incompatible batteries or chargers may present a risk of fire, explosion, or other hazard, and may invalidate any approval or warranty. If you believe the battery or charger is damaged, take it to a service centre or your phone dealer before continuing to use it. Never use a damaged battery or charger. Only use the charger indoors. Do not charge your device during a lightning storm.
CHILDREN
Your device and accessories are not toys. They may contain small parts. Keep them out of the reach of children.
MEDICAL DEVICES
Operation of radio transmitting equipment, including mobile phones, may interfere with the function of inadequately shielded medical devices. Consult a physician or the manufacturer of the medical device to determine whether the device is adequately shielded from external radio energy.
IMPLANT MEDICAL DEVICES
To avoid potential interference, manufacturers of implantable medical devices, such as cardiac pacemakers, insulin pumps, and neurostimulators, recommend that a minimum separation of 6 inches (15.3 cm) be maintained between a wireless device and the medical device. Persons with such devices should:
- Always keep the wireless device more than 6 inches (15.3 cm) from the medical device.
- Do not carry the wireless device in a chest pocket.
- Keep the wireless device on the side opposite the medical device.
- Turn off the wireless device if there is any reason to suspect that interference is taking place.
- Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the implanted medical device.
If you have questions about using your wireless device with an implanted medical device, consult your physician.
HEARING
Warning: When you use a headset, your ability to hear external sounds may be affected. Do not use a headset when it could put your safety at risk.
Some wireless devices may interfere with some hearing aids.
PROTECT YOUR DEVICE FROM HARMFUL CONTENT
Your device is susceptible to viruses and other types of harmful content. Take the following precautions:
- Be careful when opening messages. They may contain viruses or otherwise be harmful to your device or computer.
- Be careful when accepting connectivity requests, browsing the Internet, or downloading content. Do not accept Bluetooth connections from untrusted sources.
- Only install and use services and software from trusted sources that provide adequate security and protection.
- Install antivirus and other security software on your device and any connected computer. Use only one antivirus application at a time. Using more than one such application may affect the performance and operation of your device and/or computer.
- If you access pre-installed bookmarks and links to third-party websites, take appropriate precautions. HMD Global does not endorse or assume any responsibility for such websites.
VEHICLES
Radio signals may affect improperly installed or shielded electronic systems in vehicles. For more information, consult the manufacturer of the vehicle or its equipment. Only an authorized service center should install the device in a vehicle. Improper installation may be dangerous and may void the warranty. Regularly check that all wireless equipment in your vehicle is assembled and working properly. Do not store or transport flammable or explosive materials in the same compartment as the device, its parts or accessories. Do not place the device or accessories in the area where airbags are deployed.
ENVIRONMENTS WITH RISK OF EXPLOSION
Turn off your device in potentially explosive environments, such as near gas pumps. Sparks can cause an explosion or fire, resulting in injury or death. Observe restrictions in areas with fuel, chemical plants, or where operations involving the detonation of explosives are being carried out. Areas with a potential for explosion may not be clearly marked. These areas are typically places where there are signs to turn off the engine, below deck on ships, chemical transfer or storage facilities, and areas where chemicals or particles are present. Check with the manufacturers of vehicles powered by liquefied petroleum gas (such as propane or butane) to determine whether this device can be safely used in such vehicles.
CERTIFICATION INFORMATION
This model meets guidelines for exposure to radio waves.
Your device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed not to exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves (radio frequency electromagnetic fields) recommended by guidelines issued by the independent scientific organization ICNIRP. The guidelines include substantial safety margins designed to assure the safety of all persons, regardless of age and health. The exposure guidelines are based on the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), which represents the amount of radio frequency (RF) energy that accumulates in the head or body while the device is transmitting. The ICNIRP SAR limit for mobile phones is 2.0 W/kg distributed over 10 grams of tissue.
SAR tests are conducted with the device in normal operating positions, transmitting at the highest certified power level in all frequency bands.
This device meets RF exposure guidelines when used on the head or when positioned at least 5/8 inch (1.5 cm) away from the body. Cell phone holders, mounts, and similar accessories should not contain metal components and should maintain the minimum distance from the body described above.
To send data or messages, a good connection to the network is required. Sending may be delayed until a good connection is available. Follow the separation distance instructions until sending is complete.
During normal use, SAR values are typically well below the values mentioned above. This is because, for system efficiency and to minimize interference to the network, the operating power of your mobile device is automatically reduced when full power is not needed for the call. The lower the power output, the lower the SAR value.
Handset models may have different versions and more than one SAR value. Component and design changes may occur over time, and some of these changes may affect SAR values.
For more information, visit www.sar-tick.com. Mobile phones can transmit even when there is no active call.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that current scientific information does not indicate the need for any special precautions when using mobile phones. If you want to reduce your exposure, it is recommended that you limit your use or use a hands-free kit to keep the device away from your head and body. For more information, explanations and discussions about RF exposure, visit the WHO website at www.who.int/health-topics/electromagnetic-fields#tab=tab_1.
See www.hmd.com/sar for the maximum SAR value of your device.
