Warning
Installation should be performed by an installer who is skilled in the proper use of hand and power tools, knowledge of local building and fire codes, and who is familiar with the environment behind the wall or ceiling where the speaker is being installed. No attempt should be made to install these loudspeakers unless you are sure you will not be cutting through electric cables, water or gas pipes, or supporting joists. Ensure the loading on the wall or ceiling will support the weight of these assemblies.
Ci200ER Architectural Speaker - Product Overview
The KEF Ci200ER is a high-performance speaker designed for in-ceiling and flush mount installations. It features KEF's proprietary “Sit-anywhere" Uni-Q® technology, which places the 16mm high-frequency aluminium tweeter in the acoustic centre of the 200mm low-frequency woofer. This coincident point source design ensures wide dispersion and consistent sound characteristics. The Ci200ER meets IP64 certification requirements and is engineered for exceptional acoustic performance. The ABS assembly, Ultra-Thin Bezel, and grille are UV protected for durability in direct sunlight. It is ideal for foreground, background, and announcement applications in hotels, convention centres, and other commercial venues.
Ci200ER - Key Features
- KEF "Sit-anywhere" Uni-Q® Technology: Proprietary driver array places the tweeter at the woofer's acoustic centre for wide dispersion and consistent sound. Minimizes acoustic lobing problems, allowing fewer speakers for smooth coverage.
- Weather Resistant: Manufactured using proprietary plating and powder coating, the Ci200ER is UV protected and designed to withstand harsh operating environments.
- Magnetic Grille: Attaches via a powerful magnetic circuit for security and ease of installation. Can be painted to match any décor.
- Universal Cut-out: All KEF 200mm round in-ceiling speakers use the same diameter opening for simplified installation and component selection.
- IP64 Certification: Passed official IEC testing, ensuring protection against water splashing.
Ci200ER - Architect and Engineer Specifications
The speaker is designed for in-ceiling and flush mount installations, utilizing a coincident point source design with the high-frequency tweeter centered in the low-frequency woofer.
It comprises a 200mm low-frequency woofer and a 16mm aluminium dome high-frequency tweeter mounted in a UV-protected ABS baffle with a paintable bezel (max 5mm width). The grille is also paintable, includes a paint shield, and attaches magnetically for easy installation and security. The speaker is open-back, delivering a minimum frequency response of 45Hz-20kHz +/- 6 dB, and should not weigh more than 1.6kg.
Nominal impedance is 8 ohms, with a minimum pressure sensitivity of 90 dB SPL at 1 meter on-axis with 2.83 volts input. The crossover frequency is 2.8kHz. The speaker meets numerous global safety and performance standards.
The specified speaker model is the KEF Ci200ER.
