Adding the Wemo Smart Light Switch 3-Way, WLS0503 to the Home app

Before You Begin

To proceed with the setup, ensure you have the following:

• An iOS device running iOS 12 or higher, with the Apple Home app installed.
• The Wemo WLS0503 connected to your home wiring.

After wiring and powering on the Wemo WLS0503, it will boot up but not automatically enter setup mode.

To place the Wemo WLS0503 into setup mode:

1. Press any button on the Wemo WLS0503.
2. Wait for the status light to begin flashing white.
3. The status light will then flash blue, indicating it is now in setup mode.

Using NFC Setup

If your iOS device supports Near Field Communication (NFC), you can use this method for a quick and easy setup.

1. Unlock your iOS device and hold it near the Wemo WLS0503. The NFC transmitter is located in the center of the unit.
2. Depending on your iOS device, you may need to move it up or down slowly to establish an active NFC connection.
3. Once detected, a setup prompt will appear on your iOS device. Tap "Add to Home" to begin adding the device to your Home app.

The Apple Home app will take over and guide you through the remaining setup steps. Follow any on-screen instructions. Once the Home app completes the setup, you can begin customizing and using your Wemo WLS0503.

Using HomeKit® Code Setup

If your iOS device does not support NFC, or if you prefer, you can use the HomeKit setup code. This code is typically found in the quick start guide that came with your Wemo WLS0503. If you have misplaced the guide, the code can also be found on the front of the Wemo WLS0503, usually located behind the faceplate.

1. Open the Apple Home app on your iOS device.
2. Tap the plus (+) sign, typically located in the upper right-hand corner of the app.
3. Tap on "Add Accessory".
4. Locate the HomeKit setup code for your Wemo WLS0503.
5. Scan the code using your device's camera.

Once the code is detected, a setup prompt will appear. Tap "Continue" to add the Wemo WLS0503 to your Home app.

The Apple Home app will manage the rest of the setup process. Follow the on-screen instructions provided by the app. Upon completion of the setup, you can start customizing and using your Wemo WLS0503.
