Getting Started
Follow these simple steps to connect your Wemo Smart Plug:
- Plug the Wemo into a power outlet and press the power button.
- Wait for the indicator light to alternate between white and orange.
- Hold the upper back of your phone near the Wemo and follow the on-screen prompts to complete setup via the Apple Home app.
If setup prompts do not appear, manually add the accessory in the Apple Home app using the 8-digit HomeKit setup code found at the end of this guide.
Control Your Devices
Wemo Smart Plug offers versatile control options:
- Apple Home: Use the Home app to turn Wemos on/off, set schedules, create groups, and customize scenes for complete control.
- Siri Voice Control: Name your Wemo and use Siri on your iPhone, iPad, or HomePod to manage your plug with voice commands.
- Remote Access: Enable remote control by setting up a HomePod or Apple TV as a home hub.
- Thread Technology: Enjoy quicker and more reliable connections for your smart home devices with Thread, requiring an Apple HomePod mini or Apple TV 4K. If not available, Wemo connects via Bluetooth.
Troubleshooting & Support
Restart: If you encounter setup or control issues, unplug and replug the Wemo device.
Factory Restore: If a restart doesn't resolve the problem, perform a factory restore by holding the power button for 5 seconds until the light blinks white, then follow setup steps to re-add to Apple Home.
Indicator Lights: Understand what the light colors mean (Off, Solid White, White and Orange alternating, Fast Blinking Orange for overheating). For overheating, visit wemo.com/warranty for replacement information.
