Historical GE-manufactured RCA appliances covered by the dedicated 1989–2002 chart; unrelated RCA electronics and current licensees are excluded.

Use the complete equipment label, its separate model number and the documented product family. A repeating date code does not establish the model, purchase date, installation date or warranty entitlement.
Historical GE-produced RCA major appliances
GE’s dedicated RCA article says RCA appliance production ended in 2002 and provides a bounded month/year table for those older products. Use the model-specific manual to locate the actual unit plate.
The older GE chart does not establish dates or model identities for current RCA licensees, televisions, radios or other electronics. Identify the manufacturer from the product label and use its exact model manual.
The serial-only check retains every supported year. The source-context check also enters the photographed model and the decade identified by the source. Those are separate clues: neither the model nor the source’s chosen year is uniquely encoded in these serials.
RCA appliance date-prefix explanation
GA · The manufacturer illustrates April 1989 or 2001. The code repeats; this date is separate example context.
GE’s RCA chart is for historical GE-produced RCA major appliances; GE says that production ended in 2002. It does not establish a code for modern RCA-licensed appliances, televisions, radios or other electronics. Use the actual model to find a matching older appliance label guide.
Choose your product type to see its label locations. An identification example may illustrate the fields without containing a valid date code.

Label location
Locate the complete unit rating plate using the appliance’s own model manual. The RCA date article identifies serial fields but does not establish one physical location for all RCA appliances.
Format / what to enter
Copy the serial, not the model. The documented date prefix uses two letters; a model cannot be recovered from those two letters.
The dedicated RCA chart ends in 2002. Modern licensed RCA products and electronics require their own manufacturer support.
As a conditional GE-built locator aid, compare the fresh-food walls, crisper area and lower front frame with GE’s guide for the actual refrigerator style.
Format / what to enter
Copy the complete model and serial from their separate label fields.
Only use these possible GE locations once the RCA unit is confirmed as the historical GE-produced family; this is not a model-specific RCA label-location guarantee.
Use GE’s older cooking guide for the matching range, wall oven or cooktop design; possible frame, cooktop and drawer positions vary by style.
Format / what to enter
Copy the complete model and serial from their separate label fields.
Confirm the historical GE manufacturer and actual model. GE’s 2002 production cutoff is preserved; no current RCA product is dated from a reused GE year code.
Modern RCA-licensed appliances, televisions, radios and electronics are not covered.
Never assign 2013 or 2025 to an old GE-produced RCA serial: GE says its RCA appliance production ended in 2002.
Two-letter date prefixes such as GA are shared by many units. Select the dedicated prefix option explicitly; a prefix does not replace the complete serial or model.
A separately entered, exactly verified model can provide production-window context. It does not turn the serial into a model or guarantee the manufacture date of every engineering revision.

Historical RCA appliances made by GE, not current RCA-licensed appliances, electronics or TVs.
GE says its RCA appliance production ended in 2002. Do not extend the repeating chart beyond 2002 or apply it to unrelated RCA licensees.
RCA two-letter date prefix only (confirm system)
Only the explicitly selected, confirmed RCA appliance date-prefix system. This is not a complete serial lookup.
The manufacturer uses two-letter examples such as GA to explain repeating manufacture dates. Preserve all literal chart years; a two-letter prefix is shared by many units and cannot establish a unique product, full model, factory or warranty. The historical GE-produced RCA chart ends in 2002; unrelated newer RCA licensees are excluded.
Choose this option only when entering the two leading date letters from a confirmed RCA appliance label. These letters are a partial date prefix, not the unique serial or a model identifier.

RCA lookup questions
Why does the year code match more than one year?
Some systems reuse letters or only encode the last one or two year digits. Every supported interpretation is retained. A decade supplied from reliable records can narrow the reading; the tool does not automatically pick the newest year.
Does the serial identify my exact model?
Usually the model is a separate plate field. Where published serial ranges actually identify a model, the result shows model candidates and links to their manuals. Overlapping ranges remain ambiguous.
Can I share the result?
After a lookup, the address includes the serial in a fragment beginning with #serial=. Use “Copy share link” to share the serial and selected context. Opening the link runs the same lookup. The fragment is not a query-string result page.
