SECOLink 205 Wireless Smoke Detector Installation Guide

INFORMATION
The smoke detector 205 is an OEM product with a communication range of up to 30 to 40 meters indoors, operating within the SECOLINK intruder alarm system using the EXTNUM module.
This instruction is designed to familiarize the installer with the step-by- step process for adding a detector to the SECOLINK system. For information on recommended and unsuitable locations for installing the detector, and the installation itself, please refer to the OEM instructions
DETECTOR
- Remove the detector from its base by rotating it
- The detector’s serial number is printed on the label, as shown in the picture below

ENROLMENT
Enrolment using a serial number is a two-step process:
1 step. Enter the detector’s serial number 4 . The keypad will identify the detector type 5 and display the model and the battery required
TIP! When enrolling, the detector must be within range of the receiver. However, it’s still good practice to bring the detector as close as possible to the panel during enrollment.
2 step. SERVICE MODE DOES NOT HAVE TO BE ENTERED AT
THIS STEP! To complete enrolment, the detector must be activated to send a signal to the receiver. It could be done by pressing and holding the TEST / SILENCE button for 3 seconds. Important: the detector has a built-in siren, and during violation, a loud pulsating signal will sound, accompanied by the LED flashing rapidly. Once the receiver receives a signal from the detector, it will trigger the zone, marking the end of the enrollment process
The wireless smoke detector 205 sends a supervision signal to the receiver every 1 hour. If the system does not receive supervision (or alarm signal) signal from a specific detector, the detector is regarded as inactive. The amount of time after which a detector is considered inactive is called the Supervisory window 6 .
OPERATION
Upon detecting smoke, the detector activates an audible signal and sends a notification to the system. The control panel screen will display the message “Alarm!!!” along with the zone name, the siren will sound, and a report and notification will be sent to the security service and/or the user.
The alarm can be silenced in several ways: from the control panel, using the remote control, the SECOLINK PRO app, or by phone (via SMS or a call). After silencing the alarm, the smoke detector’s zone will be inactive for 9 minutes. During this time, the premises should be ventilated. After 9 minutes, the detector will become active again, and if smoke is detected, it will reactivate the audible signal and send a fire zone activation signal to the system.
If the premises cannot be ventilated within 9 minutes, the smoke detector’s zone can be temporarily bypassed. In this case, if smoke is detected again, the smoke detector will briefly activate the audible signal, but the control panel or any other sound or light devices connected to the alarm system will not be triggered
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
To evaluate wireless detector work get into technical information menu:
- Technical information
Battery life of wireless detectors depends on the environment, usage,
Periodic supervision signal Every 1h and the specific wireless devices being used. Factors such as humidity, high or especially low temperatures, large variations in temperature may all reduce the actual battery life in a given installation. When the battery is nearly dead (voltage < 2.7V) , the detector will send a low battery signal to the alarm system for the user to replace it before it discharges
Supervisory window
Supervisory is expressed in percentages 8 . This value indicates how well the detector and receiver communicates. Take the necessary actions to improve the signal quality if the supervisory value is not in an acceptable range! Even a simple action, like changing the location of the detector might significantly improve the reception quality
Radio signal strength in a wireless environment indicates how well the control panel or module can „hear“ a signal from the detector 9 .

To keep the system well maintained it is recommended for installers to use ALARMSERVER.NET online services. To see the extended technical information, the system should be added to the installer’s account and should be programmed to periodically send the technical information to the server 10 .
