Product Usage Instructions

  1. Close the stop valve of the water inlet.
  2. Flush the pipes by gently opening the stop valve until no particles are visible in the flushing water.
  3. Mount the QuickStop Pro1 either horizontally or vertically on the pipe.
  4. If possible, mount the valve unit with the coil facing upwards to prevent particles from entering the coil shaft.
  5. Ensure the valve unit is not affected by lateral or longitudinal forces.
  6. Reopen the stop valve at the water inlet gently.
  7. Visually inspect the installation for water tightness.

The control unit and its connection to the pressure sensor are typically pre-mounted. Always disconnect power from the control unit before detaching it from the valve unit to prevent damage to electronic components.

FAQ

  • Q: Can the QuickStop Pro1 be installed without WiFi access?
  • A: Yes, the QuickStop Pro1 can be installed without WiFi access. It will still protect your tap water installation, but the app and cloud functions will not be available.
  • Q: Is it necessary to mount additional valves in the installation?
  • A: It is recommended to install a ball valve after the QuickStop unit for easier maintenance and a check valve on the cold water supply pipe. Always check national regulations regarding the use of check valves in tap water installations.

Installation manual for installers

  • Installation of Roth QuickStop Pro1 must be performed by a professional installer.
  • Installation must be under national and local codes and requirements.
  • The valve unit must be installed in a frost-free environment.
  • Inlet water pressure should not exceed 10 bar and the unit will function with water temperatures between 0 – 90°C.
  • The solenoid valve and sensor unit are paired to a unit and pressure-tested before delivery.
  • The manufacturer’s warranty will be void if this assembly is modified.

Important! Safety equipment using water (e.g. fire sprinklers), must be ensured its supply of water and must be supplied from before the QuickStop Pro1 and thus cannot not be connected to the pipe network protected by QuickStop Pro1.

Warranty

  • The unit must be installed under these instructions, for the product warranty to be effective.
  • The functioning of the product depends on its correct installation.
  • No parts, such as the dirt filter included in the set, may be left out or substituted, e.g. with parts priorly installed.

Roth QuickStop Pro1 without WiFi access

  • Roth QuickStop Pro1 can be installed without WiFi access.
  • The tap water installation will still be protected by Roth QuickStop Pro1, even though the app and cloud functions are not in use and notifications are not available.
  • To have full utilization of your system we strongly recommend connecting to the app and cloud.

Roth QuickStop Pro1 with WiFi access

  • Ensure you have access to a good WiFi signal from the position, where the display unit will be mounted.
  • One way of doing this could be trying to connect a smartphone or tablet to the Internet via WiFi at that precise location.
  • Succeeding with that will likely ensure the connecting of QuickStop Pro1 to Roth app and cloud service.

NOTE! It is not enough just to check the WiFi signal strength on the mobile device since this only applies to signal reception. To ensure the wireless connection is functioning, the best way is to check the transmission by actually using the WiFi network.

Installation of product

  1. Close the stop valve of the water inlet.
  2. Then flush the pipes carefully by gently opening the stop valve, until no particles can be seen in the flushing water, before installing the QuickStop Pro1.
  3. Any accessories supplied with the product package are manufactured of brass approved for pressurized tap water.
In order to avoid corrosion caused by galvanic current, never use any parts or materials, which are galvanized, zinc-plated, or made of black steel for mounting purposes.
  4. The QuickStop Pro1 unit should be installed after the water meter, and as early as possible in the pipe system. The arrow on the solenoid valve shows the direction of the flow of water.
Be extremely careful when cutting any pipes for mounting purposes, and make sure that no thread seal tape or flax fibers are left inside the pipes, which could be carried by water into the valve unit and prevent the Leakomatic sensor from working.
  5. The QuickStop Pro1 can be mounted freely on either a horizontal or a vertical pipe.
  6. However to prevent particles from getting into the coil shaft, if possible, mount the valve unit so the coil is facing upwards.
  7. The valve unit should be mounted so that it is not affected by any lateral or longitudinal compression, torsion, or traction forces.
  8. Gently reopen the stop valve at the water inlet.
  9. Visually inspect the installation to ensure water tightness of the assembly work. We recommend installing a ball valve right after the QuickStop unit for easier maintenance operations.
It is also recommended to mount a check valve on the cold water supply pipe.

Be aware of the national ruler regarding the use of check valves in tap water installation.

Mounting of wiring harnesses

Mounting of the control unit and its connection to the pressure sensor is normally carried out before the delivery.
Always disconnect power from the control unit before dismantling the valve unit to prevent power surges that could damage the electronic components.

  1. Check that the pressure sensor’s plug is connected to the sensor and the other end is connected to the “Sensor” connector on the control unit.Roth-Pro1-Leak-Detectors-FIG-3
  2. The power adaptor is connected to the socket and the connector “Power” of the control unit.

After installation
Check that …

  • The unit does not register any flow when the water supply is turned off.
  • The test indicator’s blue light is on when the water is running continuously.
  • The blue LED goes off shortly after the tap is closed.
  • To carry out the functionality test
    • By setting the system into “Away” mode.
    • By opening a tap and letting the water run until the flow is registered.
Shortly after the valve unit will shut off the water and the red alarm LED will light up.
If the alarm audio is activated, you will also hear the alarm sound.
  • Warnings and alarms can be reset with the “Reset” button. One short press that turns off the alarm sound while holding down the button will reset the respective alarm.

Maintenance

  • The dirt filter should minimum be cleaned once a year.
  • Pour some clean water into a bucket or the like, then shut the stop valve and remove the dirt filter’s strainer, clean it by using a small brush e.g. a toothbrush, and rinse it in the clean water.
  • Reassemble the parts and gently turn the water back on.
  • After any maintenance always check that the valve unit shuts off the flow of water correctly by carrying out a functionality test.
