Audio Setup:
For wire headphones, remove the protection cap and insert the 3.5mm jack. For WireFree headphones, turn on the WireFree Pro/Lite and activate the wireless function. Pair the WRX with the detector if using a 6.35mm jack wirelessly.
Detecting:
Use the metal detector for detecting. Pinpoint targets and perform ground balancing as needed.
Maintenance:
Ensure components and finishes are free from damage. Remove the handle from the rod and allow it to dry completely after underwater detecting. Clean the detector regularly.
UNBOXING
QUICK START
Recharge
- Connect the provided charging cable to the USB charger.
- Simply align the magnetic charging head to the recharge socket of the detector. The Li-Po battery will not show the memory effect, you can recharge it as you need to. You can also use a high quality power bank to recharge the detector.
Audio
- Wire headphones. Remove the protection cap and insert the 3.5mm headphones jack.
- WireFree headphones. Turn on the WireFree Pro/Lite and activate the wireless function by quick press on Wireless button. The blinking WireFree symbol will
light up constantly.
- Pair the WRX with the detector first if you need to use a 6.35mm jack headphones wirelessly. Just put the WRX close to the control box and quickly turn on-off-on the WRX until
light up constantly.
INTERFACE
PROGRAMS
Hold the lower square button and short press UP/DOWN button to select different programs
PARK MODE. Discriminate items with target ID under 5 by default, with optimized recovery speed for high-trash areas such as parks.
FIELD MODE. Discriminate items with target ID under 8 by default. Good for open fi elds with lower EMI interferences.
- WET SAND. Optimized for dry or wet sand beach
- SALTWATER. designed for saltwater condition highly mineralized ground.
- GOLD1 One tone for gold prospecting with adjustable threshold. 2.GOLD2 Two tones with adjustable threshold and tone space.
DEEP MODE (available on Q60) Discriminate items with target ID under 10 by default. With lower recovery speed for more depth.
SETTINGS
DISCRIMINATION
The Q series detectors provide information on a target’s probable identifi cation to help you determine if it is something you want to recover. When a target is detected, the detectors circuitry analyzes the signal and assigns a specifi c number ranging from 1 to 99 based on the target’s conductivity. Objects made of iron tend to read at the lower end of that scale while targets made of copper and silver fall at the upper end of the scale. The figure below shows where different targets fall on the 1-99 scale.
THRESHOLD
When using the GOLD mode you will hear a constant audio signal in the background. This is intended to help you hear the response from very small targets that is produced by a piece of gold or other metallic specimen. Depending on the type of headphones you are using, you may need to adjust the level of the threshold sound you hear. You want to adjust it so that you can barely hear it yet still able to hear slight changes indicating a very small or deep target has been detected.
TONES.
2 TONE, iron produces a low tone, the rest produces a middle tone; 3 TONE, iron produces a low tone, nickel gold o r cooper produce a middle tone, silver produces a high tone; 4 TONE, iron produces a low tone, the rest produce three tones. PITCH, produces a linear tone for all accepted targets which varies in pitch based on the strength of the signal from the target.
TONE SPACE
You can change the space of different tones. After this function h a s been selected use the UP/ DOWN buttons to change the tone break point. The setting starts from lower tones to higher tones. Press ⚙ button for the next tone break point.
FESEN
You can setup the volume of iron tones from zero to 5. It is recommended to set the FESEN digit lower in trashy environments to discriminate unwanted items. If you don’t want to miss some potential valuable items mixed with the iron signal alarm, please set it higher.
FREQUENCY
(available on model Q60) Set to 14kHz by default, which is optimized for most conditions. 5kHz is more ideal for large items in low, non mineralized ground. 21kHz is designed for fi ner coins, thin metal, gold nuggets etc.
Second option is for Frequency Shift.
FREQUENCY SHIFT
You can shift your operational frequency slightly to avoid interference, particularly that generated by another detector nearby. For Q30 and Q30+ hold the Ground Balance button and press the volume adjusting buttons to shift. For Q60, the second FREQUENCY option is for frequency shifting.
GROUND TRACKING
Press and hold Ground Balance button and short press the ⚙ button to activate/deactivate the Ground Tracking function. The detector will calibrate to the ground automatically to reduce false signals caused by mineralization.
RESET DETECTOR
When detector is turned off, press and hold ⚙ button until the detector LCD display restart.
Trouble Shooting
- NOT POWER ON
Please recharge the detector. Contact your dealer if you can’t recharge. - NO ALARM
The coil is not connect to the control box - VERY NOISY
Please find another place with less interference - NO SOUND
Make sure the Volume is not set to ZERO level and/or wireless audio has been activated
FALSING WHEN SEARCHING IN GRASS
Please confirm the coil cable is not broken or avoid to hit the coil edge on hard objects. - OVERLOAD ALARM
Please turn to BEACH MODE if you are detecting on the beach or high mineralized ground.
Maintenance
- Do not twist the coil tail and connector to avoid wire damage.
- Do not store the device where prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures can occur to avoid device damage.
- Never use a hard or sharp object to operate the touch pad, or damage may result.
- Avoid chemical cleaners, solvents, and insect repellents that can damage waterproof function, plastic components and finishes.
- Secure the audio protection cap tightly(use a coin if necessary) to prevent damage to the audio port.
- Clean the surface of detector every time after you use under water, saltwater or freshwater. Please take off the handle from rod and allow the inside of handle dry completely each time you return from underwater detecting.
- Pay attention to the sand when change coils on the beach. Sand will get into the connector and void the warranty.
Clean the detector
- Wipe the device using a cloth dampened with a mild detergent solution.
- Wipe it dry. After cleaning, allow the device to dry completely.
- Use a soft, clean, lint-free cloth. If necessary, lightly dampen the cloth with water.
- If using a dampened cloth, turn off the device and disconnect the device from power.
- Gently wipe the screen with the cloth.
FAQ
- Not Powering On or No Alarm: Recharge the detector. Contact your dealer if issues persist.
- Very Noisy: Find a place with less interference.
- No Sound: Check volume settings and coil cable integrity.
- Falsing When Searching in Grass: Ensure volume is not at zero, and coil cable is intact.
- Overload Alarm: Switch to BEACH MODE for beach or mineralized ground detection.
