TPMS Sending Unit, Repeater and Harness Installation
Truck/Tractor Applications
Installation Steps
1. Identify suitable mounting location for the TireView LIVE (TVL) sending unit and repeater. See Figure 1.

CAUTION: The repeater must be installed to help ensure proper operation of the TireView system. Failure to install the repeater could void warranty.
Sending unit
RECOMMENDED PLACEMENT: on battery box (ensure clearance behind fairing), cross-brace behind cab, or lower gusset for side deflector.
OPTIONAL PLACEMENT: on the back of the cab.
NOTE: Consult vehicle owner operator, fleet owner, or management before mounting sending unit to cab.

Sending Unit Repeater

CAUTION: Do not mount sending unit where tires can throw debris onto enclosure as this could cause damage.

CAUTION: Make sure location is suitable to route power wire harness to the sending unit.
2. Using the TVL sending unit as a template, mark mounting hole locations and drill with a 3/8″ drill bit. See Figure 2.
3. Use supplied bolts, washers, and locknuts to attach sending unit to vehicle.

Figure 1: Recommended sending unit and repeater locations.

TORQUE mounting bolts to 8-10 ft.-lbs.

CAUTION: If mounting to the cab, seal any penetrations into the body with Silicone RTV when attaching the sending unit. Screws and sealant are not included in the kit for this installation method. Technician is responsible to ensure no damage is done to equipment inside cab.
CAUTION: When mounting TVL sending unit EXTERNALLY, you must utilize a strain relief cable tie with drip loop configuration and ensure the Weather Pack connector is facing downward. See Figure 3.

Repeater
RECOMMENDED PLACEMENT: near the first drive axle, central on the vehicle. See Figures 1 & 4.

OPTIONAL PLACEMENT: in cab, behind center
console, minimum 3 feet from the Sending Unit if possible. See Figures 1 & 5.

CAUTION: Avoid mounting the repeater where it is surrounded by metal (i.e., inside a cross member). This can prevent sensor signals from reaching the sending unit and will cause loss of data.
4. Mount the repeater using cable ties (included), bolts, or rivets. Repeater harness should be secured to factory wire harness or air lines with supplied cable ties and route towards the battery box. See Figures 4 & 5.
Wire Harness Connection
5. Starting at the component furthest from the fuse panel (usually the repeater) connect one lead of the wire harness to the Weather Pack connector on the component harness. Secure harness to factory wire harness or air lines with supplied cable ties and route towards the fuse panel.

Figure 4 Figure 5: Optional repeater location.

WEATHER PACK CONNECTORS

NOTE: The supplied wire harness has 2 preterminated Weather Pack connectors. One lead is longer than the other, but the connectors are electrically the same. Use the proper length lead for each component. See Figure 6.
6. Connect the second lead of the wire harness to the Weather Pack connector on the remaining component (usually the TVL sending unit). Secure harness to factory wire harness or air lines with supplied cable ties and route towards the battery box.
Battery Box Connection Example
7. Connect ring terminals of the harness to the battery terminals, ensuring positive (+) and negative (-) leads are on correct terminals. Secure any excess harness using supplied cable ties. Ensure wire harness does not interfere with installation of battery cover, if applicable. Verify 2A fuse is installed in wiring harness fuse holder. See Figure 7.

Install Decals
9. Consult vehicle owner operator, fleet owner, or management for decal placement. Clean surface prior to decal installation.

NOTE: Do not place decals on sending unit cover or obstruct sending unit barcode label.
Program Sensors to System
10. Use the mobile app (Goodyear® TPMS PlusTM, TireView LIVE, etc.) to program the system and install sensors.
