Controller Layout
The 8BitDo Lite gamepad features the following buttons and controls:
- Top Shoulder Buttons: L, L2, R2, R
- Power LED: Indicates power status.
- Pair Button: Used for Bluetooth pairing.
- Start Button: Labeled as "+ start".
- Select Button: Labeled as "- select".
- L3 Button: Located on the left digital joystick.
- R3 Button: Located on the right digital joystick.
- Digital Joysticks: Two analog sticks for movement.
- D-pad: Directional pad for input.
- Star Button: Used for turbo function.
- Home Button: Used for power and connection.
- Mode LED: Indicates the current mode.
Power On/Off
- Press the [home button] ? to turn on the controller.
- Press and hold the [home button] ? for 3 seconds to turn off the controller.
- Press and hold the [home button] ? for 8 seconds to force turn off the controller.
Connecting to Nintendo Switch ?
Follow these steps to connect the gamepad to your Nintendo Switch:
- Set the controller to 'S' mode using the mode switch.
- Press the [home button] ? to turn on the controller. The LED will start rotating.
- Press and hold the [pair button] ? for 2 seconds to enter pairing mode. The LED will turn off for 1 second, then start rotating again.
- On your Switch, navigate to the Home Page, then go to Controllers, and select "Change Grip/Order".
- The LED will become solid once the connection is successful.
- The controller will automatically reconnect to your Switch with a press of the [home button] ? after it has been paired.
Connecting to Windows (X-input) ?
Follow these steps to connect the gamepad to your Windows device:
- Set the controller to 'X' mode using the mode switch.
- Press the [home button] ? to turn on the controller. LEDs 1 & 2 will start to blink.
- Press and hold the [pair button] ? for 2 seconds to enter pairing mode. The LEDs will turn off for 1 second, then start to rotate again.
- On your Windows device, open Bluetooth settings and search for "8BitDo Lite gamepad".
- The LED will become solid once the connection is successful.
- The controller will automatically reconnect to your Windows device with a press of the [home button] ? after it has been paired.
- USB Connection: ? After step 1, connect your 8BitDo Lite controller to your Windows device via USB Cable.
Turbo Function ?
Activate or deactivate the turbo functionality for a button:
- Hold the button you wish to set turbo functionality for.
- Then, press the [star button] ? to activate/deactivate its turbo functionality.
Note: The D-pad and analogue sticks do not support turbo functionality. This feature is not available when connected to Switch.
Battery Information ?
Status
- Low battery mode: Red LED blinks.
- Battery charging: Red LED stays solid.
- Battery fully charged: Red LED turns off.
The gamepad features a built-in 480 mAh Li-ion battery providing approximately 18 hours of playtime. It can be recharged using the provided USB cable ? in about 1-2 hours.
Safety Warnings ⚠️
- Always use batteries, chargers, and accessories provided by the manufacturer.
- The manufacturer is not liable for safety issues arising from the use of non-manufacturer-approved accessories.
- Do not attempt to disassemble, modify, or repair the device yourself. Unauthorized actions may result in serious injury.
- Avoid crushing, disassembling, puncturing, or attempting to modify the device or its battery, as these actions can be dangerous.
- Any unauthorized changes or modifications to the device will void the manufacturer's warranty.
Power Saving ?
- The controller will automatically power off after 1 minute of no Bluetooth connection.
- It will also power off after 15 minutes of inactivity, even with an active Bluetooth connection.
- The controller will automatically reconnect with a press of the [home button] ? once it has been paired.
