Battery and SD Card Installation

Before learning how to use your WOLFANG Trail Camera, you must first install a set of batteries and insert an SD card. Please take the time to read the following instructions and precautions:

Battery Loading

Normal AA batteries.

Diagram description: An open trail camera showing the battery compartment. Labels indicate: ① Battery housing lock, ② Battery door, ③ Batteries.

Insert the battery in the direction shown in the diagram. After opening the battery housing lock on the lower left side of the camera, you will see that the camera has eight battery slots. Install a complete set of 8 AA batteries. Make sure to insert each battery with the correct polarity.

ATTENTION:
  1. WOLFANG recommends using a complete set of eight new high-quality 1.5V AA lithium or AA alkaline batteries in all iZEEKER trail camera models for maximum battery life, as lower voltage can cause operational problems.
  2. Do not mix old and new batteries.
  3. Do not mix battery types: use ALL lithium or ALL alkaline.

External Power Supply

Connect one end of the adapter to an external power supply and the other end to the DC-IN port.

Insert and Format the SD Card

Insert the SD card into the appropriate slot (metal contacts facing down) and push until you hear a "click". When the card is inserted, the mode switch must be in the OFF position.

Note:
  • Insert a Class 6 or higher SD card up to 32 GB.
  • Format the new SD card before using the camera.

Product Operation and Menu Settings

Product Operation

OFF ON

Move the "Mode Switch" to select the working status.

Diagram description: A toggle switch labeled ON and OFF.

OFF Mode: Turn off the camera

The camera is completely off. Only in OFF mode is it necessary to insert or remove the memory card or replace the batteries.

ON Mode: Adjust settings/start operation

When switching from OFF to ON, the screen display will enter preview mode. You can manually record videos, take photos, play back recorded files, or modify settings.

In preview mode, the PIR sensor is active. When activated, the indicator light will flash, but the camera will not automatically take photos or record videos.

If there are no operations, it will automatically enter working mode. There will be a delay time and the screen will have a 10-second countdown, then it will be blank, and button operation will be disabled.

When it detects animals or other moving objects, the camera will take photos or record videos when the PIR sensor is activated, then it will return to standby afterward.

Menu Settings

Monitor Delay

Select the delay time for the camera to enter automatic shooting mode. In ON mode, the camera will automatically switch to automatic shooting mode after the set delay time if no operations are performed.

Setting

Allows selection of whether to capture photos or video clips when the camera is triggered. Photo and Video mode combines both Photo and Video, so for each trigger, both a photo and a video clip are captured.

Photo Pixels

Select the resolution for photos. A higher resolution provides more pixels but creates larger files that occupy more SD card capacity (fills up faster).

Continuous Shot

Select how many photos are taken per trigger in Photo mode.

Video Resolution

Select the video resolution. A higher resolution produces better quality videos but creates larger files that occupy more SD card capacity (fills up faster). It is recommended to use high-speed SD cards (SanDisk® SDHC Class 6 or higher) if higher video settings are desired.

Video Length

Specify the duration of a video recording when the camera is automatically triggered. The video recording period is not limited in TEST mode. To extend camera life, it is recommended to set a shorter video duration.

Shooting Interval (PIR Interval)

Select the period of time the camera will "wait" until it responds to any additional activations from the PIR after an animal is first detected and remains within the sensor's range.

ATTENTION:

The PIR interval has a great influence on battery operating time. The shorter the interval, the higher the frequency to capture the target, but the higher the power consumption; the longer the interval, the lower the frequency to acquire the target and the lower the power consumption.

Timer

Set the time to "ON" if the camera should only be active within a certain period. Once "on" is confirmed with the OK button, you can set the start and end times. For example, if the start time is set to 18:35 and the end time is 8:25, the camera will be operational from 6:35 on the current day until 8:25 on the next day. The camera will not be triggered and will not take photos when the time is outside this period.

Time-lapse Shooting

Activates/deactivates Time Lapse recording mode. When activated, this function forces the camera to take photos or videos even when not triggered by a live target nearby, useful for constant monitoring of an area that might be far from the camera. This is also useful for observing cold-blooded animals (e.g., snakes) or outdoor plants, etc. As soon as the "on" setting is confirmed by pressing the OK button, you can enter the time interval (15 seconds~30 minutes) after which the photos are to be taken.

Note:

In this mode, the PIR function would stop working, and the camera would take photos at the set time interval.

Language Family

Select the desired menu language.

Date & Time

Set the year, month, and date (based on the set date format), then the hour (based on the set date format) and minutes.

Serial Number Setting

Allows the user to set a customer numbering for the camera. Useful for identification purposes when multiple cameras are configured, as each camera will imprint numbering on all captured photos (but not videos).

Use the UP/DOWN buttons (to change the setting) and the OK buttons (to move to the next field) to set the two-digit code.

Beep

Select "ON" to enable the audible signal, "OFF" means to disable.

Video Sound

Select whether to record audio during video recording.

Time Watermark

Select "Time Stamp" / "Date" if you want the date and time or only the date (when the image was captured) to be imprinted on each photo / video; select "Off" not to imprint.

Password Setting

After selecting "On", enter a four-digit password to protect the camera from unauthorized access. Use the UP/DOWN buttons (to change the setting) and the OK buttons (to move to the next field) to set the four-digit code.

Note:

This password must be entered every time the camera is turned on in TEST mode before the camera can be used. If you accidentally forget the password, "1111" is the password for all uses.

Format

Deletes (erases) all files stored on a card to prepare it for reuse. Always format a card previously used in other devices or if it is a new card.

ATTENTION:

Make sure you have downloaded and backed up all files you wish to keep beforehand!

Reset

Select OK to restore all parameters to original factory default settings. If the camera behaves strangely and you think you accidentally changed a setting (but are unsure which one), this will revert all parameters to their most commonly used or "generic" settings.

Version

Displays the current firmware version for reference.

Camera Mounting and Positioning

Using the Adjustable Strap

Diagram description: A trail camera with a strap threaded through two brackets on its back, ready to be secured around a tree trunk.

Push one end of the strap through the two brackets on the back of the camera. Thread the end of the strap through the buckle. Securely fasten the strap around the tree trunk by firmly pulling the end of the strap so that there are no loose ends.

Detection Angle and Distance Test

To verify if the WOLFANG trail camera can effectively monitor the chosen area, it is recommended to perform this test to check the detection angle and monitoring distance of the WOLFANG trail camera. To perform the test:

Automatic Shooting

Ensure the power switch is in the ON position. Once in ON mode, the red working indicator LED will flash. Before activating automatic shooting, you can set the camera parameters, install it in the shooting area, and adjust the direction and position so that the lens is aligned with the shooting field.

When no operation is performed, the camera will automatically have a delay time (30S/1MIN/3MIN) based on the setting. The red PIR indicator light will continue to flash, then the screen will display a 10-second countdown.

At the end of the 10-second countdown, the screen turns black, the red PIR indicator light stops flashing, and the PIR sensor is active. The camera enters working mode. The camera monitors and automatically captures moving animals or people.

Please note that the delay time and the 10-second countdown are set to give you enough time to close and lock the front cover of the camera and then leave. The PIR sensor is highly sensitive to ambient temperature. The greater the temperature difference between the environment and the subject, the greater the possible detection distance.

Playback Mode

All photos and videos taken by the WOLFANG trail camera can be viewed directly on the integrated screen, and can also be protected, unprotected, and deleted directly on the camera.

Reviewing Files Directly on the Camera

Put the power switch in the ON position, press the 【Mode】 button twice to enter Replay mode.

Connecting the Camera to a Computer

When using a PC (or Mac*) to view photos (or video clips*), first place the power switch in the 【OFF】 position, then connect it to the PC via a Type-C cable. Then you can view images/videos saved on the SD card directly on the PC.
