Insert the battery in the direction shown in the image.
After opening the battery compartment lock on the bottom left of the camera, you will see that the camera has eight battery compartments. Install a full set of 8 AA batteries. Be sure to insert each battery with the correct polarity.
CAUTION:
- WOLFANG recommends using a full set of eight high-quality new 1.5V AA Lithium or Alkaline AA batteries in all WOLFANG Trail Camera models for maximum battery life, as lower voltage can cause operational problems.
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix battery types – use ALL Lithium or ALL Alkaline batteries.

Product Operation and Menu Settings
Product Operation
OFF ON
Slide the 'Mode Switch' to select the operating status.
OFF Mode: Turn off the camera
The camera is completely off. Only in OFF mode should you insert or remove the memory card or replace the batteries.
ON Mode: Adjust settings/Start operation
When switching from OFF to ON, the screen display switches to preview mode. You can manually record videos, take photos, play back captured files, or change settings.
In preview mode, the PIR sensor is turned on. When triggered, the indicator light flashes, but the camera does not automatically take photos or videos.
If no operation is performed, it automatically switches to working mode. There is a delay time, and the screen shows a 10-second countdown, and then it goes blank, and button operation is disabled.
When animals or other moving objects are detected, the camera takes photos or videos when the PIR sensor is triggered, and then returns to standby mode.

Menu Settings
Monitor Delay
Select the delay time when the camera switches to automatic capture mode. In ON mode, the camera automatically switches to automatic capture mode after the set delay time if no operation is performed.
Mode Setting
Select whether still images or video clips are captured when the camera is triggered. The Photo and Video mode combines both photo and video, so each trigger captures both a still image and a video clip.
Photo Pixel
Select the resolution for still images. Higher resolution offers more pixels but creates larger files, which consume more SD card capacity (filling up faster).
Burst Shot
Select how many photos are captured per trigger in Photo Mode.
Video Resolution
Select the video resolution. Higher resolution produces videos of better quality but creates larger files that consume more SD card capacity (filling up faster). The use of high-speed SD cards (SanDisk® SDHC Class 6 or higher) is recommended if you desire higher video settings.
Video Length
Set the duration of a video recording when the camera is automatically triggered. The recording duration for videos is not limited in TEST mode. To extend the camera's lifespan, we recommend setting a shorter video length.
Capture Interval, Timer, and Time-lapse Capture
Capture Interval
Select the time span the camera waits before responding to further triggers from the PIR, after an animal has been detected for the first time and remains within the sensor's range.
CAUTION:
The PIR interval greatly influences battery operating time. The shorter the interval, the higher the frequency to capture the target, but more power consumption; the longer the interval, the lower the frequency for capturing the target and the lower the power consumption.
Timer
Set the time to 'ON' if the camera should only be active within a specific time frame. After confirming 'ON' with the OK button, the start and end times can be set. For example, if the start time is set to 18:35 and the end time to 8:25, the camera will be operational from 6:35 AM on the current day until 8:25 AM on the following day. The camera will not trigger and take photos if the time falls outside this period.
Time-lapse Capture Setting
Turns the time-lapse capture mode on/off. When this function is activated, it forces the camera to take photos or videos even if it is not triggered by a nearby live target, which is useful for constant monitoring of an area that may be far from the camera. This is also useful for observing cold-blooded animals (e.g., snakes) or plants, etc. Once the 'ON' setting is confirmed by pressing the OK button, you can enter the interval time (15 seconds ~ 30 minutes) after which photos are to be taken.
Note:
In this mode, the PIR function no longer works, and the camera takes photos at the set interval time.
General Settings
Language Family
Select your desired menu language.
Date & Time
Set the Year, Month, and Date (based on the selected date format) and then the Hour (based on the selected date format) and Minute.
Set Serial Number
Allows the user to set a customer numbering for the camera. Useful for ID purposes when multiple cameras are set up, as each camera prints numbering on all photos (but not videos) that it captures. Use the UP/DOWN buttons [↑]/[↓] (to change the setting) and the OK buttons [OK] (to go to the next field) to set the two-digit code.
Beep
Select 'ON' to enable the beep, 'OFF' means 'Close'.
Video Sound
Select whether audio should be recorded during a video recording.
Timestamp
Select 'Timestamp' / 'Date' if you want the date and time or just the date (when the picture was taken) to be printed on each photo/video, select 'Off' for no imprint.
Password Setting
After selecting 'On', enter a four-digit password to protect your camera from unauthorized access. Use the UP/DOWN buttons [↑]/[↓] (to change the setting) and the OK buttons [OK] (to go to the next field) to set the four-digit code.
NOTE:
This password must be entered every time the camera is turned on in TEST mode before the camera can be used. If you accidentally forget the password, '1111' is the universal password.
Format
Deletes (erases) all files stored on a card to prepare them for reuse. Always format a card that has been used in other devices previously or if it is a new card.
CAUTION:
Make sure you have downloaded and backed up all files you wish to keep first!
Reset
Select OK [OK] to reset all parameters to the original factory settings. If the camera behaves strangely and you believe you have accidentally changed a setting (but are not sure which one), all parameters will be reset to their most frequently used or 'general' settings.
Execution
Displays the current firmware version for reference.
Mounting and Positioning the Camera
Using the Strap
Diagram showing the strap being threaded through the camera's mounting points.
To mount, slide one end of the strap through the two holders on the back of the camera. Thread the other end of the strap through the buckle. Then, secure it to the tree, ensuring the strap is tight enough to prevent it from slipping.
Detection and Distance Test
Diagram showing the camera mounted on a tree.
To test if the WOLFANG Trail Camera can effectively monitor your chosen area, we recommend performing this test to check the detection angle and range of the WOLFANG Trail Camera.
- Slide the WOLFANG Trail Camera to the ON mode.
- Move yourself or an object within the 10-second countdown range, parallel to the camera, to simulate a wild animal or motive. Try different angles and distances from the camera.
- When the motion detection LED (red) flashes, it indicates that the position is being detected. When it does not flash, it means this position is outside the detection range. The results of this test will help you find the best placement for mounting and aiming the camera. The height from the ground to the device's setup should be between 3 to 6 feet, depending on the animal. In general, it can detect animals up to 65 feet away. It can detect potential motion disturbances caused by temperature and wind, so avoid placing it near a heat source or loose branches (especially in windy conditions).
Automatic Capture
Ensure the power switch is in the ON position. Once you switch to ON mode, the operation indicator LED (red) will flash. Before activating automatic capture, you can set the camera parameters, install it in the capture area, and adjust the direction and position so that the lens is aligned with the capture area.
If no operation is performed, the camera will automatically have a delay time (30S/1MIN/3MIN) according to the setting. The red PIR indicator light will continue to flash, and then the screen will display a 10-second countdown.
After the 10-second countdown expires, the screen will turn black, the red PIR indicator light will stop flashing, and the PIR sensor will be active. The camera will switch to working mode. The camera will automatically monitor and capture moving animals or people.
Please note that the delay time and the 10-second countdown are set to give you enough time to close and lock the front cover of the camera and then walk away. The PIR sensor is highly sensitive to ambient temperature. The greater the temperature difference between the environment and your subject, the greater the possible range.
Playback Mode
All photos and videos captured by the WOLFANG Trail Camera can be displayed directly on the integrated screen, as well as protected, unprotected, and deleted directly on the camera.
Checking Files Directly on the Camera
Set the power switch to the ON position, then press the [Mode] button twice to enter playback mode.
- Press [UP] [↑]: Page forward
- Press [DOWN] [↓]: Page forward
- When viewing videos in playback mode, the [OK] button is the Playback/Pause button.
- If you want to delete an unwanted file in playback mode, press the [Menu] button and then the [OK] button to delete the current file or all files.
- Press the [Mode] button again to exit playback mode.
Connecting the Camera to a Computer
If you are using a PC (or Mac*), to view photos (or video clips*), first set the power switch to the [OFF] position. Then connect the PC via a Type-C cable. You can then view images/videos stored on the SD card directly on the PC.
- Additional software may be required to display video files on a Mac.
