Installing the Batteries and SD Card

Loading the Batteries

The WOLFANG Trail Camera uses normal AA batteries. After opening the battery case lock at the bottom left of the camera, you will find eight battery slots. Install a full set of 8 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity for each.

CAUTIONS:
  1. WOLFANG recommends using a full set of eight high-quality new 1.5V AA Lithium or alkaline AA batteries in all WOLFANG trail camera models to obtain maximum battery life. Lower voltage can cause operational issues.
  2. Do not mix old and new batteries.
  3. Do not mix battery types (e.g., use all lithium or all alkaline).

External Power Supply

The camera can also be operated using an external power supply. Connect one end of the adapter to an external power supply and the other end to the DC-IN port at the bottom of the WOLFANG trail camera.

Insert and Format the SD Card

Insert the SD card into the card slot with the metal contacts facing down. Push until you hear a "click". The mode switch must be in the OFF position when inserting the card.

Note:
  • Insert a Class 6 or higher class SD card up to 32GB.
  • Format the new SD card before using the camera.

Mounting and Positioning the Camera

Using the Adjustable Web Belt

Push one end of the belt through the two brackets on the back of the camera. Thread the end of the strap through the buckle. Fasten the belt securely around a tree trunk by pulling the end of the strap firmly until there is no slack left.

Sensing Angle and Distance Test

To test whether the WOLFANG trail camera can effectively monitor your chosen area, perform this test to check the sensing angle and monitoring distance:

  1. Switch the WOLFANG trail camera to the ON mode.
  2. Before the 10s countdown ends, make parallel movements in front of the camera at several positions within the area where you expect game or subjects to be. Try different distances and angles from the camera.
  3. If the motion indicator LED light (Red LED) blinks, it indicates that the position can be sensed. If it does not blink, that position is outside the sensing area. The results of your testing will help you find the best placement when mounting and aiming the trail camera.

The height from the ground for placing the device should vary appropriately with the animal size. Generally, 3 to 6 feet is preferred. Potential false triggers due to temperature and motion disturbances can be avoided by not aiming the camera at a heat source or nearby tree branches or brush (especially on windy days).

Automatic Shooting

Ensure the Power switch is in the ON position. Once switched to ON mode, the red work indicator LED will blink. Before activating automatic shooting, you can set camera parameters, install it in the shooting area, and adjust its direction and position so the lens is aligned with the shooting range.

When there is no operation, the camera will automatically have a delay time (30S/1MIN/3MIN) according to the setting. The red PIR light indicator will still flash, and the screen will display a 10-second countdown.

After the 10-second countdown, the screen turns black, the red PIR light indicator stops blinking, and the PIR sensor becomes active. The camera enters working mode and automatically monitors and captures moving animals or people.

The delay time and 10s countdown are set to allow sufficient time to close and lock the front cover of the camera and walk away. The PIR sensor is highly sensitive to ambient temperature. A greater temperature difference between the environment and your subject results in a farther possible sensing distance.

Replay Mode

All photos and videos taken by the WOLFANG trail camera can be viewed directly on the built-in screen. Files can also be protected, unprotected, and deleted directly on the camera.

Reviewing Files Directly on the Camera

Put the power switch to the ON position, then press the Mode key twice to enter Replay mode.

Connecting the Camera to a Computer

When using a PC (or Mac*) to view photos (or video clips*), first put the power switch to the OFF position. Then connect to the PC via a Type-C cable. You can then view images/videos saved on the SD card directly on the PC.
