Remote Code Specification

All Naim Audio equipment uses standard Philips RC5 remote control codes. Each remote instruction consists of two parts, a ‘system code’ and ‘command code’. The system code denotes the type of product to be controlled and the command code is the unique number for the operation to be performed. The RC5 codes are also given in Hex format for Philips Pronto programmable remote controls.

The Default System Code for the HDX, NS01, NS02 and NS03 is 7

Alternative RC5 System codes

  • The Naim HDX, NS01, NS02 and NS03 all have the option of using an alternative RC5 system code if the default system code clashes with another manufacturer’s piece of equipment.
  • To change the system code a unique ‘change code’ must first be sent to the HDX. The following table defines the alternative system codes and the system and command code required to configure the HDX to use the alternative code.
