Assembly

  • Sew nose in the middle of the face on rounds 6-10. Before completely closing up the nose, insert the magnet between the body and nose.
  • Sew eyes using black yarn between Rounds 7- 8, about 2-3 stitches away from the nose. The eyes should be about 3-4 stitches long.
  • Use black to sew the “Y” detail onto the nose.
  • Sew ears on the body between rounds 6 and 7, about 3 stitches away from the eyes.
  • Sew Arms on rounds 12-15 about 7 stitches apart.
  • Sew Feet on rounds 19-22 about 5 stitches apart.
  • Sea strawberry has a slight curve on the top of the head, slightly towards the front, and the leaves are on the right side of the head.
  • Sew the yarn on the top of the head.

Troubleshooting

  • Stitches don’t match count: Double-check your stitch count after each round. It’s easy to miss a stitch or accidentally add one. Unravel and re-crochet the round if necessary.
  • Holes in your work: Ensure your tension is consistent and tight enough, especially when working in the round. Using a smaller hook size can also help if your stitches are too loose.
  • Magic Ring is loose: Make sure you pull the tail of the magic ring very tight to close the hole completely.
  • Difficulty with abbreviations: Refer to online tutorials or crochet guides for visual demonstrations of each stitch (CH, SLST, SC, INC, DEC).
  • Parts are not symmetrical: Ensure you are following the pattern exactly for both of a pair (e.g., arms, ears, feet). Count your stitches carefully.
  • Stuffing shows through: Stuff firmly but not excessively. If the stuffing is visible, your stitches might be too loose, or you might be overstuffing.
