UI 4.0.10 BIC Manual Fill Blender Shaft Replacement Tool
The unit must have the following software or newer before updating blender cycle counts:
- UI Software version 4.0.10 or UP
- Mixer Software version 0.19.0 or UP
Blender Shaft Replacement Kits are available for blender shafts with closed (USA) or open bell housings.
TOOLS REQUIRED
- Safety Puncture Proof Gloves

Warning
Blender shaft contains sharp blades. Do NOT touch the blades.
Important
Keep refrigeration cabinet door closed so product remains chilled.
PREPARATION
- Verify you have all four pieces of the Blender Shaft Replacement Tool: one (1) Upper Hub, one (1) Lower Hub, and two (2) Cup Holder Clips.
- Power unit OFF using switch located on LEFT side of unit and unplug unit from power source.
REMOVE BLENDER SHAFT - Put on safety puncture proof gloves.
- Remove grate from blender area then remove plastic door.
- Pull the cup holder approximately half way down in the blender area.;
- Install Cup Holder Clips.
A. Lift the cup holder up as far as possible.
B. While holding the cup holder up install the two (2) Cup Holder Clips in place to hold the cup holder up out of the way.
C. The blender shaft will remain in position in the middle of the chamber.
- Place the Upper Hub over the blender shaft as shown below.
• For the OPEN bell housing shaft, the Upper Hub will sit loosely on top of the bell housing.
• For the CLOSED bell housing shaft, rotate the Upper Hub until it drops in place and can no longer be rotated. - While holding the Upper Hub in place, raise the Lower Hub to engage with the Upper Hub.
• For the OPEN bell housing shaft, rotate the Lower Hub until the shaft fits into the slots then twist the Upper Hub in the direction of the “REMOVE” arrow.
• For the CLOSED bell housing shaft twist the Lower Hub in the direction of the “REMOVE” arrow.
D. The two hubs will lock together.
E. Once the hubs are locked together, twist the Lower Hub in the direction of the “REMOVE” arrow to remove the old shaft from the motor.
NOTE: The blender shaft has a long thread and it may take time to completely remove shaft from motor. Use caution not to cross thread the shaft.
- Remove Lower and Upper Hubs from old blender shaft.
A. Leave Cup Holder Clips in place.
B. Remove the Lower and Upper Hubs from the old blender shaft by holding the Upper Hub firmly in place and twisting the Lower Hub in the direction of the “INSTALL” arrow.
C. This will unlock the two hubs and allow removing the tool from the old shaft.
INSTALL BLENDER SHAFT
- Connect Lower and Upper Hubs to new blender shaft by twisting the Lower Hub in the direction of the “INSTALL” arrow.
- Install new blender shaft.
A. Place the top of the blender shaft into the opening in the blend area and tilt into the middle hole of the cup cover.
B. Thread the new blender shaft into motor by turning in the direction of the “INSTALL” arrow on the Lower Hub.
C. Continue to turn tool until new shaft stops turning and shaft is tightened into place. It will take some time to completely thread the new blender shaft into the motor. Use caution not to cross thread the shaft into the motor.
NOTE: The shaft should only be hand tight. Never use a ratchet to install the blender shaft. - Remove Upper and Lower Hubs from new blender shaft by holding the Upper Hub and blender shaft firmly and turn the Lower Hub in the direction of the “INSTALL”
- Holding cup cover firmly, remove Cup Holder Clips.
- Carefully lower cup cover.
- Repeat process to replace other blender shaft.
NOTE: It is recommended to replace both blender shafts at the same time.REASSEMBLY
- Verify cup alignment rings are installed in blender grate. Notify manager if missing.
- Replace grate in blender area then reinstall plastic door.
- Plug unit IN and power unit ON.
BLENDER CYCLE COUNTS
- Reset blender cycle count.
NOTE: There are two different User Interface (UI) screens that are used on Blend-in-Cup (BIC) units.
MR7 WITH SOFTWARE 4.0.10 OR 5.0.10
• From easy To UCH screen press MANAGER MENU
• Press “A” for password then press GREEN check
• Arrow DOWN one (1) time
• Press SHAFT REPLACEMENT
• Enter correct password then press GREEN checkPART REPLACED PASSWORD RIGHT SHAFT SHAFTR LEFT SHAFT SHAFTL • Press check on confirmation
• If both shafts replaced repeat process using correct password.
• Press BACK arrow until return to easy To UCH screen
COMMON CONTROLLER SOFTWARE 06.00.01 OR HIGHER
• From easy To UCH screen press SERVICE
• Press “A” for password then press GREEN check
• Press PLANNED MAINTENANCE
• Press MIXER MAINTENANCE PERFORMED
• Enter correct password then press GREEN checkPART REPLACED PASSWORD RIGHT SHAFT SHAFTR LEFT SHAFT SHAFTL • Press check on confirmation
• If both shafts replaced repeat process using correct password.
• Press BACK arrow until return to easy To UCH screen - Perform daily cleaning/sanitizing of unit.
- Make a drink on each side to confirm operation with manager.
