The MDI-2U is a powerful, easy-to-use device that combines the features of a high-quality D/A converter (up to 192 kHz – 24 bit) and a DI box in a compact, rugged and lightweight unit. It allows you to send a balanced, high-quality audio signal that is free of noise from your laptop to a mixer, PA system or studio monitor. The headphone’s output allows you to monitor the stereo or mono signal. A plug & play device, PC and Mac compatible, that does not require any drivers.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The unit is automatically recognized on connection.
- Windows: 10, 32-bit or 64-bit, or later.
- Mac OS: no drivers required.

CONTROL PANEL

OUTPUT LEVEL
- Turn this knob clockwise to set the general output level.
ON
- This LED signals that the device is powered on and ready for use.
MONO
- Press this switch to convert the stereo signal to mono.
PHONES
- Connect your headphones to this output via 6.35mm jack. The output level is controlled by the Output Level knob.
USB INPUT
- Connect the USB cable supplied to power the device and enable audio streaming from your computer.
REAR PANEL
XLR OUTPUTS
Connect a mixer, studio monitor or PA system to these outputs using an XLR-M/F cable wired as follows:
- PIN 1 – Ground (earth),
- PIN 2 – Positive (+ or hot),
- PIN 3 – Negative (- or cold).
PAD
- Pressing this switch reduces the output level by -30dB. Use the PAD in situations where there is a very high input signal that is close to distorting.
GROUND
- Pressing this switch lifts pin-1 on both XLR-M outputs.
- Use this function to earth hums and loops.
INSTALLATION ADVICE
No additional drivers are required. Connect the device to the USB port on your computer; it will be automatically recognized.
