Programming
Follow these steps to program the interface:
- Open the driver's door and keep it open throughout the programming process.
- Cycle the ignition: OFF -> ACC -> ON -> START.
- Connect the AXTC-FD1 harness to the AXTC-FD1 interface, and then to the vehicle's wiring harness.
- For (auto*) vehicles: Do not touch the steering wheel controls; the interface will auto-program.
- For (tap*) vehicles: Locate the Volume Up button on the steering wheel. Tap the Volume Up button at a heartbeat pace until the LED light stops flashing.
- The LED light will flash Green & Red while the interface programs the radio to the steering wheel controls. Once programmed, the LED light will go out, then produce a pattern that identifies the radio type installed.
- The LED light will go out, then flash Green & Red again while the interface programs itself to the vehicle. Once programmed, the LED light will go out again, then turn solid Green.
- Cycle the ignition OFF, then back ON.
- Test all functions of the installation for proper operation.
*Refer to the application list on page 2 for (auto) vs (tap) programming.
Troubleshooting
If the interface fails to function:
- Press and release the reset button on the interface.
- Repeat the programming process starting from step 4.
Final LED Feedback:
At the end of programming, a Solid Green LED indicates successful programming. If the LED light did not turn Solid Green, consult the table below:
| LED Light Status | Radio Programming Section | Vehicle Programming Section |
|---|---|---|
| Solid Green | Pass | Pass |
| Slow Red Flash | Fail | Pass |
| Slow Green Flash | Pass | Fail |
| Solid Red | Fail | Fail |
Note: If the LED light shows Solid Green (indicating programming was correct), but the steering wheel controls do not work, ensure the 3.5mm jack is securely plugged into the correct jack on the aftermarket radio. If corrected, press the reset button and program again.
