The Munchkin Easy Close XL gate offers both pressure-mount and hardware-mount installation options. For maximum safety, especially at the top of stairs, hardware mounting is recommended.

5. Hardware Mount (Recommended for Stairs): For added security, particularly at the top of stairs, use the four wall cups with sticky pads and screws provided. This requires drilling holes into the wall or banister.

1. To open the gate, simultaneously pull up on the handle and push down on the button located on the top of the handle.
2. Swing the gate open in the desired direction. The gate can open in two directions unless the optional third lock is engaged.

• Simply push the gate door firmly until it clicks into the closed and locked position.
• Always ensure the double-locking system is securely engaged after closing.

Optional Third Lock:

• The gate includes an optional third lock at its base. This feature allows you to set the door to open in only one direction or to lock it in both directions, preventing it from opening at all. This is particularly useful for stairways.
