SYSTEM GUIDE
APPROVED BY R&D ADVISOR LUCILE BONNIN, PH.D.
THIS ISN’T YOUR AVERAGE INSTRUCTIONAL GUIDE.

THIS IS THE MANUAL TO END BEAUTY BURNOUT.

EAUTY BURNOUT. It’s the sensation that there’s always another way to improve one’s appearance and that it’s morally right to pursue an ‘objective’ standard of beauty at all costs.
We’re all feeling it and the mainstream beauty industry thrives on it, leaving us in a constant cycle of ‘buy and try.’
That’s why we’ve created The MILO Multifunctional system, designed to simplify your routine and minimize the number of skin, scalp, and hair products needed.
With the Everything Oil, Refreshing Tonic, and Activating Powder, you can combat overconsumption, and experience Beauty Freedom—without compromising effectiveness
FACT OR FICTION?
The mainstream beauty industry is filled with disinformation. They continuously invent problems to ‘fix,’ making you feel like you’re not enough. Then sell you solutions to those problems. It’s time to address those long-held myths head-on.

MYTH 1:
YOU NEED TO STRIP THEN, REPLENISH.
We’ve been conditioned to feel like our natural oils are something to be afraid of or grossed out by. But just because your skin feels dry and tight after cleansing, doesn’t mean it’s healthy.
TRUTH
Effective skin care does not require harsh stripping of the skin’s natural oils. Gentle cleansers can remove impurities without compromising the skin’s barrier, maintaining hydration and protecting against irritation.
MYTH 3:
NEWER = BETTER.
Whether it’s a new product, a new formula, or just new packaging, we’re led to believe these “innovations” will fix our perceived skin problems. And if they don’t yield immediate results, it’s onto the next.
TRUTH
The mainstream beauty industry thrives on this cycle of newness. But as cliché as it sounds, consistency is key. Dermatologists recommend having a little patience. And by that, they mean sticking to a routine for 4-6 weeks before you
make a decision. Plus, if your body operates on a ~28-day hormone cycle, it’s important to allow a full cycle to complete before evaluating how your skin responds to a product. This is because hormonal fluctuations throughout the cycle can significantly impact your skin’s behavior and needs.
MYTH 2:
YOUR SKIN HAS A TYPE.
Oily? Dry? A combination of both? If you manage to figure it out, you’re locked into buying products that address that type, always looking for that little ‘skin type’ icon in the product description.
TRUTH
Your skin is a living, constantly fluctuating organism. It’s an outward reflection of our mental, emotional, and physical well-being with hormones cycles, diet, hydration, age, and climate being major factors. The real and only “type” you strive for is Balanced. Once you do, the only goal should be to maintain it.
MYTH 4:
THERE’S A PRODUCT FOR EVERY ‘PROBLEM’
Acne, dullness, dryness, loss of elasticity—the list goes on and on, and so does your shopping cart. Products with specific purposes may seem like sure-thing solutions. Aren’t anti-acne washes supposed to cure all of your acne? Unfortunately, buying all of these single-use products is unnecessary, especially when your skin and hair concerns may be below the surface.
TRUTH
We get it, there’s no denying that a 12-step routine feels like self-care. But ingredients in and of themselves are multifunctional. With thoughtful and intentional formulation, we can create more effective products. So instead of product stacking, you can ingredient stack, simplifying your routine and bathroom shelves. Plus, making an effort to eat healthy, improve sleep, and lower stress, will reduce the need for those concern -specific products.

- Each ingredient is multifunctional, meaning each product serves multiple purposes and can be applied to multiple areas vs. a single-ingredient product for a single purpose.
Ex: Rosehip Face Oil has both nourishing and antioxidant properties that are great for moisturizing skin, scalp, and hair in the same way. - We leverage the power of Ingredient Stacking, combining ingredients based on each product’s multiple intended purposes. Ex. Our Everything Oil feeds and strengthens skin, hair, and scalp with the help of ingredients like Safflower and Camellia.
BUY LESS, DO MORE.
We’re debunking those myths and starting something new. Something that will help put an end to overconsumption. Introducing the MILO Trio, a simple yet dimensional three-product system. Here’s how it works: - Combining our products together means you can replace up to 18 products, opening up a whole new set of possibilities.
Ex. When The Everything Oil’s moisturizing and strengthening properties combine with the Activating Powder’s antioxidant and invigorating properties, they create a nourishing mask that encourages cellular turnover. - Our system can effectively replace your skin, scalp, and hair products—simplifying your routine. After all, what’s good for your face is good for the rest of your body, so why treat them differently? Ex. The Everything Oil effectively replaces Makeup Remover, Cleanser, Moisturizer, Face Oil, Body Oil, Scalp Oil, and Hair Oil

BOOSTERS & ESSENTIALS
Sometimes it feels as though we need a PhD to understand the products we use on our bodies.
But there are only two concepts you need to know: Essentials and Boosters. Essentials are the building blocks to your skin’s health while Boosters are there to provide additional benefits that contribute to your skin’s overall health.
We took the guesswork and multiple shopping trips away by including both in our three-product system. This is thanks to ingredient stacking thus, streamlining your routine.

ESSENTIALS
ANTIOXIDANTS ![]()
The skin is composed of 3 main antioxidants; vitamin E, vitamin C, and ubiquinone. Antioxidants help prevent oxidative and UV damage to the skin, which can also help prevent skin cancer, photoaging and dermatologic conditions (Ghaffari et al., 2015). As we age, our skin’s antioxidant defenses tend to deteriorate, which leads to oxidative stress and intrinsic aging (Kang et al., 2019). It is important to use antioxidant protection to maintain skin health.
HYDRATION ![]()
Hydration draws water into the skin. It keeps your skin plump and smooth, especially in the deeper layers. Products with humectants like hyaluronic acid attract water from the surface of your skin to the deeper layers. Your skin may appear dull and feel tight without proper hydration. Especially when exposed to drying products like alcohol-based cleansers. To prevent this, avoid products like alcohol-based cleansers and use products that actively pull water through the lipid bilayer. (Kang et al., 2019)
MOISTURE ![]()
Moisture keeps water inside your skin. It’s crucial for maintaining softness, elasticity, and a healthy skin appearance. The skin’s lipid bilayer—a protective barrier made of ceramides, fatty acids, and cholesterol —acts like a seal, locking in moisture. It’s important to reinforce that barrier by using products rich in oils otherwise your skin loses its ability to retain water, causing dryness and imbalance. Avoiding over-exfoliation and harsh cleansing can help with this too. (Bolognia et al., 2012)
BOOSTERS
ANTI-INFLAMMATORIES ![]()
Anti-inflammatory agents play a role in enhancing skin barrier function and mitigating inflammatory responses. These agents not only contribute to barrier repair but also provide a soothing effect on irritated skin, thereby underscoring their importance in maintaining overall skin health. (Chandan et al., 2021)
CELL RENEWAL ![]()
Cell renewal involves the continuous shedding of old, damaged cells and the generation of new ones. This process occurs in both the epidermis (the outermost layer of the skin) and the dermis (the layer beneath the epidermis). It’s a vital process in skin health and plays a key role in skin care, particularly in maintaining a healthy, smooth, and vibrant appearance. (Kang et al., 2019)
ESSENTIAL NUTRIENTS ![]()
Essential nutrients like unsaturated fatty acids play a role in promoting skin health through topical application. (Dakhil et al. 2018)
