Product Usage Instructions:

1. Preparation for Shutdown:

  1. Remove charcoal from hopper, cooking grates, warming rack,
    manifold pieces, ash tray, and other accessories.
  2. Remove the front hopper shroud, hardware connecting leg brace
    to legs, and hopper ash door.

2. Disassembling the Controller:

  1. Unscrew the shutdown slide handle.
  2. Remove screws on the shutdown flap hopper shroud and remove the
    shroud.
  3. Disconnect controller connections and remove thumb screws from
    the back of the controller.
  4. Disconnect wire connections on the side of the controller and
    loosen screws on the insulation housing.
  5. Remove screws from the rear of the controller and remove the
    back panel.

3. Removing Hopper:

  1. Disconnect wire connections and feed the controller wire
    through hopper pass-through holes.
  2. Remove screws at the bottom and top near the manifold inside
    the body to detach the hopper.
  3. Have someone hold the hopper while removing hardware to
    disconnect it from the body. Lay the hopper down.

4. Final Steps:

  1. Disconnect the spring from the top shutdown flap assembly using
    needle-nose pliers.
  2. Remove hardware from bottom shutdown flap assemblies and remove
    the connector rod.
  3. Remove top and bottom shutdown flap assemblies.
  4. Replace top and bottom shutdown flap assemblies and associated
    hardware. Keep flaps closed.
  5. Replace the shutdown handle and tighten screws on the top
    shutdown flap.

5. Reassembly:

For reinstallation, follow all steps in reverse order.

Remove: charcoal from hopper, cooking grates, warming rack, all 3 manifold pieces, ash tray, and any other accessories on the grill.

A) Remove the front hopper shroud. B) Remove the hardware that connects
the leg brace to the legs. C) Remove the hopper ash door.

Unscrew the shutdown slide handle. 6

Remove 3 screws on the shutdown flap hopper shroud. Remove the shroud.

CONTROLLER

Remove the controller connections.

Remove the 4 thumb screws from the back of the controller. Remove the controller

Disconnect two black and white wire connections on the side of the controller.

Loosen 3 screws on the insulation housing to make room for the power plug.

Remove 6 screws from rear of controller and remove the back panel.

2 SCREWS

Disconnect 2 wire connections and feed the controller wire through the hopper pass through holes. Note, you will have to remove
a zip tie from the inside of the hopper.

Remove the bottom (2 screws) next to the manifold inside of the body. 13

2 SCREWS

USE CAUTION, this step will disconnect the hopper from the body. Have a second party hold the hopper in place as your remove the hardware. Remove the top (2 screws) next to
the manifold inside of the body. This will disconnect the hopper. Remove the hopper from the body.

Lay the hopper down.

Disconnect the spring from the top shutdown flap assembly.
Note: it is recommended to use a pair of needle nose pliars to accomplish this

Remove hardware from the bottom shutdown flap assemblies. Remove the connector rod.

Remove top and bottom shutdown flap assemblies (6 screws).

Replace top and bottom shutdown flap assemblies.

Replace hardware from the top and bottom shutdown flap assemblies.

Shutdown flaps and connector rod components should remain in the closed position.

Keep the shutdown flaps in the closed position. Replace the shutdown handle.
Tighten the (2 Screws) on the top shutdown flap.

For installation, follow all steps in reverse.
