Unfolding the Tripod
Unfold the legs as shown in the diagram. Open the 3 tripod legs. To adjust the tripod’s height, release the telescopic extensions on each leg by rotating Twistlock A about a quarter of a turn.
Leg Angle Adjustment
Each leg can be set independently at any of the 3 angles of spread. To change the angle on a leg, close the leg slightly towards the center column and press down the locking button W at the top of the leg. While pressing the button, select the new leg angle and then release button W to lock in position, then open the leg fully again. The angle of each leg can be adjusted independently of the other two legs.
Warning: During this procedure, please take care not to insert your fingers inside the central aperture on the spider collar.
Adjusting Centre Column Height
To release the centre column C, unlock gear D and adjust the height of the column as required. Tighten gear D to lock the column in position.
Inverting the Central Column
The centre column can be inverted. Remove rubber cap E, unlock gear D and remove the column C by pulling it upward out of the shoulder of the tripod. Invert the column C and insert it into the shoulder from below. Tighten gear D and replace the rubber cap E.
Note: For outdoor use, especially in windy conditions, the tripod’s stability can be increased by hanging a counterweight (not supplied) on hook I. The combined weight of the counterweight and the camera must not exceed the tripod’s declared payload.
Attaching Accessories
Remove cap K. The tripod has one 3/8 female thread Y which can be used to attach accessories, such as Manfrotto arms that can in turn support lights, monitors, etc.
Folding the Tripod
Fold the tripod as shown in the diagram for easy storage and transportation.
Transportation
The tripod has a hook I to attach an optional carrying strap.
Maintenance
Twistlock Maintenance
If there is a decrease in twist lock A smoothness, proceed as follows:
- Unscrew the rubber gear.
- Clean the threaded parts (removable gear and leg gear) with water to remove any sand or dirt.
- Lubricate both threaded parts.
- Mount the internal plastic cone as shown in the diagram.
- Fit the plastic bevel ring into the appropriate ring groove in the leg’s metallic gear.
- Fully reassemble the rubber gear.
Spider Collar Tension Adjustment
If the leg tension is too weak or too stiff, compromising the proper product use, the spider collar tension needs to be adjusted. To do this, turn screw T clockwise (to tighten) or anticlockwise (to loosen) using a TORX key number 25. As a reference, we suggest applying 1/3 of a turn to restore the proper tension.
