Printer Components

Label Cartridge Installation & Replacement
Use the dedicated MakeID label cartridge that integrates labels and carbon ribbons.
The MakeID dedicated label cartridge features RFID smart recognition technology. When used with the printer and MakeID label software, it automatically identifies the label model and matches the corresponding label template.
Please follow these steps when installing or replacing the label cartridge.
- Press the cover release button to open the compartment

- Remove the label cartridge

- Install the new cartridge

- Push down the cartridge to the slot

- Secure the cover until it latches

Note:
Place the label to the exit before closing the cover.
Print from Mobile Phone
Download the app
Scan QR code to download the “MakeID Label Pro” app.

Connect to the printer
- Turn on the phone’s Bluetooth.
- Open the app.
- Power on the printer.
- Tap the printer icon
in the upper-right
corner of the app screen to connect to the printer.
The Bluetooth name of the printer is its serial number (SN code). The SN code can be found on the bottom of the printer.

Print out the label
- Edit your printing.
- Press the ‘Print’ button at the bottom of the screen to proceed with printing.
Print From PC
- Download the “MakeID Label Design” software from the website:
https://www.makeid.com/support - Install the software on the computer.
- Connect the printer to your computer via the USB cable.
- Power on the printer.
- Open the software and edit your printing.
- Press the ‘Print’ button to proceed with printing.
Printer Controls and Status
- Power On/Off: Long press
for 3 seconds to power on/off the printer. - Screen Display:
- Bluetooth is connected
- USB is Connected
- Battery
- Printer’s ready

- Label Alignment:
When in Ready state, press
and the printer will adjust the label alignment, and feed out one or more labels. - Print Self-Test Label
When in Ready state, long press
for 3 seconds to print the self-test label. - Printer Setting
When in Ready state, press
to enter the settings menu, and press it again to toggle options. In the settings menu, press
to set printer parameters. - Settings include the followings:
Setting Description Print densit Higher number for denser prints whilst lower for lighter. Adjust the print density accordingly to meet your needs.
Tips: Recommended print density: 10-14, too high or too low may affect print quality.Language Select the printer’s display language. Auto power-off timer Auto power-off timer if no operations are performed. - Print Pause/Cancel
The display screen shows real-time printing progress during printing operation. Press to pause immediately. Long press II for 3 seconds to cancel the print task while paused. - Error Notification
If an error occurs, the print software and printer screen will show error messages. Please follow the steps below to resolve the problem. If the problem persists, contact MakeID at:makeidpro_service@makeid.com

| Label error | Check if the label template height matches the actual label height. Open the cover and reinstall the label cartridge. |
| Unidentified Label | Unauthorized MakeID label cartridge. Only official MakeID cartridges are recommended. |
Maintenance and Repair
Print head cleaning
Print head should be cleaned when any of the following conditions happens:
- Blurry printing
- Blurry vertical column in printed labels
- Each time one consumable cartridge used up
- Please follow the steps below to clean the print head:
- Power off the printer, open the top cover and remove the label cartridge.
- Wait til the print head cools down completely if printing has just been completed.
- Use soft cotton cloth dipped in anhydrous ethanol (should be wrung out) to wipe off the print head surface dust and stains.
- Wait 3-5 minutes for the anhydrous ethanol to fully evaporate before installing the label cartridge.
CAUTION
- Please ensure the printer is powered off when maintenance.
- Do not touch the print head surface with hands or metal objects, and do not use tools such as tweezers to scratch the print head, the print roller or the surface of the sensor.
- Organic solvents such as petrol and acetone should not be used.
- Do not power on to resume printing before the anhydrous ethanol has fully evaporated.
Long-term storage
If the printer is not used for a long period of time
- Make sure the battery is fully charged;
- Storage conditions should be temperature-20°C~+60°C, with humidity 5%~93% RH (non-condensing).

Safety Notice
Personal safety is the top priority when operating or maintaining the printer. This manual contains warnings and precautions for safe operation. Before operating or maintaining the printer, carefully read and understand all warnings and precautions included this manual.
Do not attempt any printer repairs or adjustments yourself. If the problem persists after following the troubleshooting steps provided in this manual, power off the printer immediately and contact us at: makeidpro_service@makeid.com for further assistance.
Safety Warning
Waming The print head is a heat-generating component. Do not touch the print head and its surrounding components during and just after printing.
Warming: To avoid damage to the print head by static electricity, do not touch the print head surface or its connection plugin
Precautions
- Do not use the printer for any use or purpose other than those described in this manual, as that may cause accidents or damage to the product.
- Only MakelD official labels can be used for this printer. Thus, please do not use other branded labels as the replacement, as this may cause damage to the printhead and shorten its life. damage to the printhead caused by the use of poor-quality labels are not covered by the warranty.
- The print head is a heat-generating component. Do not touch the print head and Its nearby components during printing or just after printing,
- Do not touch the printhead to prevent static electricity from causing damage to sensitive components. If the printhead gets dirty, please clean it with anhydrous alcohol.
- Do not scratch the printhead with hard objects, damage to the printhead caused by improper maintenance or use are not covered by the warranty.
- Do not place any foreign objects outside the label exit, as this may cause damage to the printer
- Do not press or hit the printer, as this may cause damage to the components or the printer to malfunction.
- If the printer is soaked in water or damaged, stop using it immediately.
- The printer should be kept away from direct sunlight or the rain, heaters and other heat-generating devices, dashboards, the rear of the cars, nor exposed to extremely high or low temperatures, high humidity, or dusty areas. It is recommended to use the printer at a temperature of 0°C-40°C, humidity 5%-15% to ensure a good printing effect and prevent the printhead from being bumt.
- If there is a large temperature difference between indoors and outdoors, it is not recommended to use the printer immediately when it is taken from outdoors to indoors. It needs to be left to stand for a period of time to ensure that the printer is frost-free before use
- Do not stick the label where your hands often touch. Sweat and friction will make the printings fade.
- Do not leave the labels in contact with chemical liquids, for a long period, otherwise, it will affect the preservation time.
- To prevent labels from jamming due to multiple printings, please remove and tear off the label at the label exit after each printing task is finished,
- Do not disassemble the printer to avoid possible electrocution, mechanical Injury, or causing damage to the printer components and other accidents.
- Power off the printer immediately to avoid bums if the printer shows abnormalities such as emitting smoke or odor, etc.
- To prevent unexpected situations, do not force to open the cover to remove the label roll when the printer is operating
- Do not touch the printhead to avoid burns because the printhead is still in a high-temperature state after the printings have just finished
- As the printhead is a precision component, and to better protect the printhead and extend its life, it is recommended:
a. Not to print more than & meters for each continuous printing.
b. Not to print more than a total length of 30 meters per day. - when the printing effect meets the requirements of use, it is suggested that the user should set the printing density/darkness as low as possible, so as not to affect the service life of the print head.
- Due to the structural reason, the printhead is a fragile component, please pay attention to the following notes to avoid conosion.
a. Do not touch the printhead surface
b. Do not use carbon ribbons and label paper that contain sodium (Na) ions, potassium (K) ions, and chlorine (CI) ions.
c. Printhead should be avoided contact with any liquids or wet objects
d. Printhead can be only cleaned with anhydrous alcohol - Please keep this manual properly for reference
Warranty Policy
Warranty Period:
Make will provide you with free limited liability repair or product replacement services for 1 year from the date of purchase of this product in the event of a hardware failure on the condition that you have installed and used this procluct in full accordance with the normat working conditions and methods specified in this user manual

Ineligibility for the Warranty Service:
Malfunctions or damage of this product belonging to the following situations are not covered by the free warranty, please choose paid repair service:
- The product or its components exceed the warranty period.
- Failure to install and use in accordance with the manual.
- Repaired or disassembled by non-MakelD staff
- Non-MakeID labels or unsupported print media are used.
- The operating environment does not conform to the conditions specified in the manual.
- Substandard packaging or transportation methods are used by users during the transportation and handling of the product.
- Non-MakeID components are used.
- Malfunctions or damage due to force majeure such as man-made or natural disasters (e.g. earthquake, fire, etc.)
- Other malfunctions or damage that is not caused by product quality issues. This policy does not affect your legal rights as a consumer.
