Label Cartridge Installation & Replacement

Please follow the 1→ 2→ 3→ 4 sequences to install or replace the integrated label & ribbon cartridge.

1. Open the compartment cover.
   
2. Remove the cartridge.
   
3. Place the new one into the compartment and press to the innermost.
   
4. Close the compartment cover.
   

CAUTION:

1. When placing the integrated label & ribbon cartridge, please ensure the label side faces the exit and the label tip is put into the exit.
2. When closing the compartment cover, please ensure the bottom snap-ins are securely placed inside the corresponding holes.

Label Printing – Print through APP

1. Scan to get APP
   
2. Enter APP
   
3. Connect Bluetooth/Wifi
   
4. Get printing templates
   
5. Edit the contents

Label Printing – Print through PC

1. Connect to the PC
   
2. Download the editing software and drive (which can be downloaded from www.makeid.com/en/support.html
   
3. Install the drive (restart the PC if the installation fails, and run installation before reinstall it)
   
4. Open the Software
   
5. Edit the text
   
6. Print out the label
   

Printer Operation

How to Set the Printer?
Long press the “ ”for 3 seconds to power on the printer with an indication tone. Under normal conditions, the printer screen displays the main page, but if any abnormality occurs, it will be prompted on the screen. The Ready page display is as follows:

1. Bluetooth is turned on
2. WIFI is turned on
3. Bluetooth or WIFI is connected
4. USB is connected
5. Battery
6. Printer’s ready
7. Label & ribbon type
8. Printing density
9. Printer serial no
10. Remaining labels/total labels

When the printer is on, long press the for 3 seconds to power off the printer with an indication tone.

In the Ready page,

1. Click on the , one die-cut label will move forward automatically , or a certain distance for continuous labels;
2. Click on the , the printer will cut off the label.
3. Long press the for 3 seconds to enter the Set page, and click on the button again to switch different setting options. The setting options include the indication tone, Wifi, automatic power off time, the cutter, the languages, positioning accuracy and positioning mode, which can be set in unidirectional cycle by clicking on the . Long press the for 3 seconds during the process to return to the main page.

Printing density
Printing density has 20 levels, the bigger the digit is, the darker the printing will be. You may adjust the density level to meet your needs.
Density levels between 10 and 14 are recommended. Higher or lower density level may affect the printing quality.

Indication tone
When the printer status changes, the indication tone will be prompted through the beeper. You can turn on or off the tone in the setting. Tone in the system default is on.

WiFi
Turn on or off the Wifi. Wifi in the system default is on.

Automatic power off time.
Automatic power off time setting if no further operation on the printer.

Cutter setting
Cutter operation mode setting. The mode includes Cut by Each Label (cut every one label printing), Cut by Complete Task (cut  every printing task), and Cutter Turn off.

Language setting
Display Chinese or English language by setting the languages.

Positioning mode setting
Positioning mode includes two modes: normal mode and accurate mode. When in accurate mode, every time the cover is put back on, one label will automatically feed to guarantee an accurate printing position, while in normal mode, no label will feed which may cause the first printing off position. Positioning mode in the system default is normal mode.

How to Use the Printer?

During the printing, the screen shows the progress. Click on the , the printing task pauses and the screen shows pause once the current label printing task finishes, and click on the button again to continue the printing. Long press the to cancel the printing task.

Malfunction Indication

When the printer malfunctions, an abnormal status notice will be prompted on the printer screen and the PC/APP, please refer to the following methods for appropriate troubleshooting. If you still can not solve the problem, please contact the agent or manufacturer.

Status notice	Troubleshooting
Close Cover	Shut the cover back on.
Abnormal label	Reinstall the label cartridge and shut the cover back on.
Label failed to be identified	Use official label & ribbon or return for repair.
Cutter stuck	Remove the label that stuck at the cutter, and restart the printer.
Print head overheated	Do not print until the print head cools down.
Pause	The printer is in pause state, click on the Pause button to restore.
Low battery	Connect the printer to the adapt- er to charge.

Maintenance and Repair

Print head cleaning
Print head should be cleaned when any of the following conditions happens:

1. Blurry printing;
2. Blurry vertical column in printed labels;
3. Each time one consumable cartridge used up;

Please follow the steps below to clean the print head:

1. Power off the printer, open the top cover and take out the consumable cartridge;
2. Wait til the print head cools down completely if printings just finish.
3. Use soft cotton cloth dipped in anhydrous ethanol (should be wrung out) to wipe off the print head surface dust, and stains.
4. Wait 3-5 minutes until the anhydrous ethanol completely evaporates before installing the label cartridge.

CAUTION

1. Please ensure the printer is powered off when maintenance.
2. Do not touch the print head surface with hands or metal objects, and do not use tools such as tweezers to scratch the print head, the print roller or the surface of the sensor.
3. Organic solvents such as petrol and acetone should not be used.
4. Do not power it on to print until the anhydrous ethanol completely evaporates.

Long term storage

If the printer is not used for a long period of time,

1. Make sure the battery is fully charged;
2. Take out the carbon ribbon cartridge and store separately from the printer.
3. The storage conditions should be temperature -20℃~ +60℃, and humidity 5%~93%RH (frost free).

Safety Notice

Please read the following notices with attention before using the printer.

Safety Warning
Warning: The printhead is a heat-generating component.
Do not touch the printhead and its surrounding components during and just after printing.
Warning: To avoid damage to the printhead by static electricity, do not touch the printhead surface and connection plugin.

Cautions

1. Appropriate space around the printer is needed for operation and maintenance.
2. Printer should be kept away from water.
3. Do not use or store the printer under high/low temperature, high humidity or heavily polluted areas. In addition, printer should be kept away from direct sunlight, bright light, and heat source.
4. Printer should not stored in any vibratory or impactive areas.
5. Do not use the printer under humid or dewy conditions. If dewing is formed, do not power on the printer before it dries out.
6. Connect printer’s power adapter to a properly grounded socket. Avoid using the same socket with large motors or other equipment as which may cause fluctuations in power supply voltage.
7. Disconnect the printer from the power if it is not to be used for an extended period of time.
8. Avoid water or any electrically conductive substances (e.g. metal) from entering the printer. Turn off the power as soon as this occurs.
9. Power must be turned off when connecting or disconnecting any port, otherwise damages to the printer control circuitry may occur.
10. It is recommended that users set the print density level as low as possible to avoid shortening printhead service life, provided that print results meet the usage requirements.
11. Users must not disassemble the printer on their own for overhaul.
12. Please keep this manual for future reference.
