GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The MTD4 Analogue Timer is ideal for geysers, swimming pools, heaters, irrigation, office power, homes or industrial. The timer can be set daily with 8 ON/OFF programs to control appliances in 24 hours or set weekly with 96 programs to control ON or OFF in one week.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
- Switching pre-selection/manual setting
- Program timing disc. Use at least two switching segments at each activation
- Switching segments (1 = 15 mins)
- Morning/Afternoon (AM/PM) time display
- Hand for setting time (hours and minutes) can be adjusted anti- clockwise and clockwise; turn minute hand firmly to left
- Three way switch: Permanent ON – AUTO -Permanent OFF

MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
Safety Information: Electrical devices should only be connected and mounted by an electrical specialist. Manipulations and Modifications on the timer will result in loss of warranty. The national specifications and applicable safety regulation must be observed.
The quarts movement starts automatically after a few minutes once the Timer has been connected to an AC power supply of 230 Volt/ 45-60 Hz AC. The full power reserve is built up after about 3 days but the timer, once connected can be set up and used immediately.
SETTING THE TIME
You have to set the timer using the Pointer (Black Diamond Shape) as reference by turning the Dial Knob clockwise until the corresponding number (Current time) falls under the pointer. You can set the seconds as well. The seconds run in sequence from 0 at intervals of 5 seconds to 60.
PROGRAMMING THE TIMER
Press down the blue slices at the time intervals you want the timer to switch on. Keep in Mind each blue slice represents half an hour and every little line between each number l l l represents half an hour. (1, 1½, 2 etc.). Move the button at the bottom left corner to AUTO. The timer should work as required.
OVERRIDING THE TIMER
If the timer has switched ON and you would like to keep it ON without changing any of your settings, move the button in the bottom left hand corner to the PERM position, this will keep the unit on permanently.
When no longer required to stay ON, move the button back to AUTO to revert to your normal programmed times. The MTD4 will carry on using your previously programmed settings.
If the timer has switched OFF and you would like to keep it of without changing any of your settings move the button in the bottom left hand corner to the PERM position again. This will keep the unit OFF permanently.
When no longer required to stay off, move the button back to AUTO to revert to your normal programmed times. The MTD4 will carry on using your previously programmed settings.
TURNING YOUR TIMER ON OR OFF MANUALLY.
To switch the timer ON or OFF in the PERM position at any time desired use the ON / OFF control to force the unit to turn on or off. (The button in the left hand bottom corner has to be on PERM)
EMV/CEN/EMC/ETY
The timer has been build in accordance with European directives 73/23/EEC (Low Voltage Directive) and 89/336/ EEC (EMC – Directive). If the timer is used together with other devices in an installation, take note that the complete installation does not cause radio interference.
