Diagram shows a top-down view of the countertop opening and side view of the range cutout. Key dimensions include: Overall Depth 23 1/2". Cutout width is 29-15/16" to 30-1/16" smooth cut. Clearances: 2-7/8" radiant coil to front surface of countertop, 5-5/8" coil to front surface. 20-5/8" door clearance from front surface of countertop. Minimum 27-1/2" height from floor to underside of countertop. Front filler supports and front cabinet filler may be required. Minimum 6" clearance from walls is recommended. A minimum 30" clearance is required between surface units and the bottom of unprotected wood or metal cabinets. If the bottom of wood or metal cabinets is protected by 1/4" thick flame retardant millboard covered with No. 28 MSG sheet metal (.015"), .015" thick stainless steel, .024" aluminum, or .020" copper, a minimum 24" clearance is acceptable. The maximum depth of the overhead cabinet is 13". A minimum 15" vertical distance is required from the bottom of adjacent overhead cabinets to the cooktop. A minimum 1-1/4" countertop thickness is required. Braces may be needed if cabinet structure does not provide this. The area for the electrical outlet should be acceptable, located in the adjacent cabinet or under the floor. The rear of the opening requires a 1/4" flat area. A minimum 9/16" flat area is needed on the sides. The range support is designed to hang from the countertop on side metal flanges under the glass cooktop. Do not install on a base or sub structure (e.g., 2"x4" support). Ensure wall coverings, counters, and cabinets can withstand heat up to 200°F (93.3°C). While 0" spacing to adjacent surfaces above the cooktop is approved, 6" minimum spacing to surfaces less than 15" above the cooktop and adjacent cabinets is recommended to reduce exposure to steam, grease, and heat. Locate the wiring junction box at the rear of the cutout. The dimension from the top of the box to the countertop must be a minimum of 28-1/2". The box must not extend more than 3" off the plane of the wall. Ensure enough slack in the range conduit for service.
3. When Installing Range in Countertop Cut Out to Wall
⚠️ WARNING
An additional anti-tip bracket support must be mounted to the rear wall of the cutout. This support is typically a 2x4 piece of lumber screwed directly into wall studs and must withstand 200 lbs of force at the engagement point.
Diagram shows the rear wall cutout and anti-tip support installation. Key dimensions: 25" width, 9/16" minimum flat area on sides. The anti-tip support should be located 10-3/8" from the countertop to the support. The range cutout width is 29-15/16" Min. to 30-1/16" Max. The anti-tip bracket attaches to the back of the range and fits under the countertop. The bracket location depends on countertop thickness.
4. Remove Oven Door (Optional)
Door removal is not required for installation but is an added convenience. To remove the door:
- Open the oven door as far as it will go.
- Push both hinge locks toward the door frame to the unlocked position (may require a flat blade screwdriver).

⚠️ WARNING: Fire Hazard
Improper connection of aluminum house wiring to copper leads can result in an electrical or fire hazard. If residence leads are aluminum, use only connectors designed for joining copper to aluminum and follow the manufacturer's recommended procedure closely. Failure to do so may result in serious injury or death. It is recommended to have electrical wiring and hookup connected by a qualified electrician. After installation, have the electrician show you how to disconnect power.
You must use a single-phase, 120/208 VAC or 120/240 VAC, 60 Hertz electrical system. The National Electrical Code requires a four-conductor connection for new construction. Refer to local codes for specific requirements. If no local codes exist, follow the National Electrical Code (NFPA No. 70).
The rating plate is located on the oven front frame, visible when the door is open.
This appliance requires a properly grounded, 40 amp (minimum) branch circuit protected by a circuit breaker or time-delay fuse.
DO NOT shorten the flexible conduit. Ensure the conduit strain relief clamp is securely attached to the junction box and the conduit is securely attached to the clamp. If the conduit does not fit, obtain a proper size clamp.
The 3 power leads supplied are suitable for heavier gauge household wiring. Their insulation is rated for higher temperatures than typical household wiring.
Make Electrical Connections
Place the unit on a platform or table level with the cutout opening. The platform must support 200 lbs. (91 kg). Connect the flexible conduit to the electrical junction box as follows:
Three-Conductor Branch Circuit Connection
NOTE: If residence leads are aluminum conductors, see WARNING in section 5A.
If local codes permit:
- Connect the oven ground conductor along with the neutral (white) lead to the branch circuit neutral (white or gray), using a wire nut.
- Connect the oven red lead to the branch circuit red lead, and the oven black lead to the branch circuit black lead, in accordance with local codes, using wire nuts.
- Install proper strain relief clamp.
- Install junction box cover.

6. Anti-Tip Device Installation
⚠️ WARNING
- To reduce the risk of tipping, the range must be properly secured to the countertop or rear wall using the anti-tip support. (See Section 3 for details.)
- Weight on the door could potentially cause the range to tip and result in injury. Never allow anyone to climb, sit, stand, or hang on the oven door.
Installing the Anti-Tip Bracket
The anti-tip bracket is attached to the back of the Drop-In Range and is designed to fit under the bottom of the countertop opening at the rear. Measure counter thickness at the back of the cutout to determine the correct bracket location.
Select the proper position for the countertop thickness and move the bracket to the proper position. The unit is supplied with the bracket in position 1.
- Position 1: For 1.18" (3 cm) Counter
- Position 2: For 1.5" Counter
- Position 3: For 3.5" Counter
- Position 4: Alternate (shown in diagram)
Diagrams show the anti-tip installation and location. Anti-Tip Installation (Rear of Range): Shows the bracket positioned under the countertop at the rear. Key measurements: 1/4" min. flat area on interior wall, 9/16" min. flat on sides. The bracket engages the underside of the countertop by at least 1/2". Countertop thickness is a factor in bracket placement. Alternative Installation: Shows attachment to a wall stud. Requires attachment to wall stud. The bracket is designed to fit under the bottom of the countertop opening.
7. Install the Range
Install Stop Screw
These screws prevent the range from sliding out of position during operation.
- Carefully mark the cabinet for the location of the stop screws.
- Drill 1/8" pilot holes into the cabinet on each side of the range (do not drill entirely through the cabinet wall).
- Carefully turn the shoulder screws into the pilot holes until they are tight.
Diagram shows measurements for stop screw placement: 26-1/4" from countertop to center line of screw, and 2-1/2" from front edge of countertop to center line of screw. One screw per side.
Placing Range into the Opening
- It is recommended that two people lift the range into place, carefully setting the side metal flanges under the glass on the edges of the countertop opening.
- Carefully slide the range toward the back of the opening. Stop pushing when there is still a 4" gap at the front before flushing the range with the counter.
Diagram shows the range being slid into the opening with an approximate 4" gap at the front.
Remove the Protective Channels (if provided)
Carefully remove the protective channels from the sides of the glass cooktop. This may require a slight lifting of the range to remove the weight from the channels.
Diagram shows pulling protective covers from the sides of the glass cooktop.
Check Anti-Tip Bracket
With the range still out from the countertop, confirm the anti-tip bracket is securely attached to the rear of the range. Slide the range back so the anti-tip bracket slides just under the countertop or wood block attached to the rear wall. If the range is pulled from the wall for any reason, always repeat this procedure to verify the range is properly secured by the anti-tip bracket.
Diagram shows the anti-tip bracket positioned under the countertop or wood block.
Attach the Lower Trim
Attach the lower trim (supplied separately) to the bottom of the vertical side trim with the 4 screws supplied.
Diagram shows attaching the lower trim to the side trim.
Locating the Stop Screw
Carefully slide the range towards the back of the opening. When the range is approximately 1" from the back, lift the front of the range approximately 1/2" to clear the stop screw located in the sides of the cabinet. Slide the range until it is seated into the opening. Lower the front of the range onto the countertop.
Check for Proper Installation of the Stop Screw
Look at both sides of the range under the door. The stop screws must be located in the notch on the sides of the range and not touch the top of the notch when the range is fully seated. If the screws do not meet requirements, move them to a position that does.
Diagram shows the stop screw engaging the notch in the bottom of the side trim. The screw should not touch the top of the notch.
8. Final Installation Checklist
