Prepare Frame: Locate and unfold the cardboard support (A) with cutouts (B). Lift the back end of the Frame (48) and insert it into the cutouts.
Attach Right Upright: Locate the Upright Wire (74) on the Upright Base (81). Identify the Right Upright (73) and have a second person hold it. Route the Upright Wire through the Right Upright using the wire tie (C, D). Attach the Right Upright (73) to the Upright Base (81) using two 3/8" x 2 3/8" Screws (4), one 3/8" x 1 3/4" Screw (33), and three 3/8" Star Washers (5). Do not fully tighten yet. Attach a Wheel (13) to the Upright Base (81) with a 3/8" x 1 3/4" Screw (33). Do not fully tighten. Attach the Left Upright (72) and the other Wheel similarly. Remove cardboard support and lower the Frame (48).
Attach Crossbar: Do not pinch the Ground Wire (31). Locate tab (E) on Crossbar (69). Hold Crossbar between Uprights (72, 73) with tab in slot (F). Attach Crossbar (69) with four 5/16" x 3/4" Screws (2) and four 5/16" Star Washers (6). Tighten screws.
Attach Console Base Trays: Set Console Base (84) facedown. Attach Left and Right Trays (32, 46) to Console Base (84) with six #8 x 1/2" Screws (14). Tighten screws. Save four 5/16" x 3/4" Screws (2).
Attach Console Base: Ensure Ground Wire (31) is in front of Crossbar (69). Set Console Base (84) on Uprights (72, 73). Attach Console Base (84) with the saved four 5/16" x 3/4" Screws (2) and four 5/16" Star Washers (6). Tighten screws.
Connect Console: Do not pinch wires (G). Hold Console (83) near Console Base (84). Insert console wires (G) into opening (H) and set Console on Base. Attach Console (83) with six #8 x 3/4" Screws (7). Tighten screws. Grip connector on Upright Wire (74) in Right Upright (73), press latch (I) on wire pull (D), and remove wire pull.
Route Wires: Route Upright Wire (74) and Ground Wire (31) through Plastic Ties (45). Connect Upright Wire (74) to console wire (G) and Ground Wire (31) to console ground wire (J). Ensure connectors snap. Insert wires into opening (H).
Attach Oval Grommet: Slide Oval Grommet (75) onto Upright Wire (74). Insert one side into Right Upright (73), then press the other side into the Right Upright.
Attach Latch Crossbar: Raise treadmill. Have a second person hold Frame (48). Remove two 5/16" x 3/4" Screws (2) from Latch Crossbar (87). OPERATION
How to Plug in the Power Cord
Use a Surge Suppressor: Always use a UL 1449 listed surge suppressor (TVSS) with your treadmill to protect against voltage surges. Ensure it meets specifications (400V or less, 450 joules minimum, 120V AC, 15 amps) and has a monitoring light.
Grounding: The treadmill must be grounded. The power cord has a grounding pin. DANGER: Improper connection increases shock risk. Do not modify the plug. If it doesn't fit, have a qualified electrician install a proper outlet.
Connection: Plug the power cord into the surge suppressor, and plug the suppressor into a properly installed and grounded outlet. Avoid overloading the circuit by not plugging other high-power devices into the same circuit or suppressor. If your circuit breaker trips repeatedly, consider an arc filter.
Console Setup
Turning On: Plug in the power cord. Locate the power switch near the cord and press it to the reset position. Stand on the foot rails. Attach the safety clip (B) to your waistband and insert the key (C) into the console. The console may take a few minutes to boot up.
Emergency Stop: The key can be pulled out in an emergency to stop the belt. Test this by stepping back.
Turning Off: Remove the key. Press the power switch to the off position. Unplug the power cord to prevent premature wear of electrical components.
Touch Screen: The console has a full-color touch screen. Swipe or flick to navigate. It is not pressure-sensitive. Use on-screen keyboard for text input.
Initial Setup: Before first use, connect to your wireless network, customize settings (unit of measurement, time zone), log into or create an iFIT account, and check for firmware updates. Calibrate the incline system by navigating to Settings > Maintenance > Calibrate Incline.
Wireless Network: To use iFIT and other features, connect to a wireless network (802.11b/g/n router with SSID broadcast enabled). You will need your network name (SSID) and password. Passwords are case-sensitive.
Using the Treadmill
Manual Mode: Press 'Start' or the Start button. The belt begins at a low speed. Change speed using increase/decrease buttons, numbered speed buttons (e.g., press '3' then '5' for 3.5 mph), or the on-screen speed slider. Change incline using increase/decrease buttons, numbered incline buttons, or the on-screen incline slider. Calibrate incline system before first use.
iFIT Workouts: Connect to wireless and log into your iFIT account. Select from featured workouts or browse the library. You can also create draw-your-own-map workouts. Workouts may include video guidance, route maps, and automatic speed/incline adjustments. Save workouts as favorites or schedule them.
Workout Progression: Follow on-screen prompts. Use the 'Stop' button or step onto foot rails to pause or end. Adjust volume using console buttons.
Smart Adjust & Active Pulse: The console can automatically adjust intensity based on manual overrides (Smart Adjust) or your heart rate (Active Pulse, requires compatible monitor).
Console Features:
Fan: Adjust speed using console buttons.
Headphones: Connect Bluetooth headphones by pairing them with the console.
Heart Rate Monitor: Compatible with Bluetooth Smart monitors. Connect and view your heart rate on screen.
MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING
Maintenance: Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance. Inspect and tighten parts. Clean the walking belt and exterior with a damp cloth and mild soap; dry thoroughly. Do not spray liquids directly on the treadmill or console.
Troubleshooting: If problems arise, consult the following:
Power Not On: Check power cord connection to surge suppressor and outlet. Ensure key is inserted. Check power switch; reset if tripped.
Power Turns Off During Use: Check power switch; reset if tripped. Ensure power cord is plugged in. Remove and reinsert the key.
Console Lit After Key Removal: This may be demo mode. Check console settings to disable if necessary.
Squeaking Noise: Retighten screws securing the uprights (see assembly step 4).
Incline Not Changing Correctly: Calibrate the incline system (see page 24).
Walking Belt Slows: Ensure proper surge suppressor use. If belt is overtightened, loosen idler roller screws 1/4 turn counterclockwise. Adjust until belt lifts 2-3 inches (5-7 cm). If belt slips, tighten idler roller screws 1/4 turn clockwise. Ensure belt is centered.
Walking Belt Off-Center: Use hex key to adjust idler roller screws (clockwise for left shift, counterclockwise for right shift). Be careful not to overtighten.
Belt Lubrication: The belt is pre-lubricated. Do not apply silicone spray or other substances unless instructed by service. Contact support if more lubricant is suspected to be needed.
