Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the TOPPING M50 lossless music player! The M50 is a versatile device supporting multiple music formats. It can access audio files from SD cards, USB drives, or hard disks. It offers wireless connectivity via Bluetooth, Airplay, and DLNA, and can also connect to a computer to function as a USB interface. TOPPING believes the M50 will provide an exceptional Hi-Fi music experience.
Please read this manual carefully to understand and utilize all functions of the M50.

Front Panel
- 1-1 Power Switch: Long press to turn on/off. Short press to turn off the screen when powered on. Press any button on the front panel after the screen is off to wake it up.
- 1-2 Remote Receiver: Point the remote control at this receiver for operation.
- 1-3 Display Screen
- 1-4 Previous Track/Previous Item: Short press to switch to the previous track (playback) or previous item (other menus). Long press for fast rewind (playback) or fast switching (menus).
- 1-5 Back: Short press to return to the previous menu. Long press to return to the main interface.
- 1-6 Next Track/Next Item: Short press to switch to the next track (playback) or next item (other menus). Long press for fast forward (playback) or fast switching (menus).
- 1-7 Play/Pause/Confirm: Short press to play/pause (playback). Select or confirm modifications (menus).
- 1-8 Play Menu: Press to enter the play menu on the playback interface.
- Note: Some buttons may have different functions or be invalid depending on the current input source or menu.

Connectivity and Operation
Connecting to PC as USB Interface
- USB DAC Mode: When the USB mode is set to "DAC" in [Main Interface - System Settings - USB Mode], connect the M50 to your computer via the USB DAC interface to use it as an external sound card. In this mode, track switching and playback control are managed from the computer.
- USB Storage Device Access: When the USB mode is set to "USB" in [Main Interface - System Settings - USB Mode], connect the M50 to your computer. This allows you to access and manage files on the TF card inserted into the M50.
Connecting USB Storage Devices (TF Card, USB Drive/HDD)
- Insert a USB drive, mobile hard disk, or TF card into the appropriate slot.
- After the device is loaded, navigate to [Main Interface - Music Browse] to select and play songs.
- TF Card Capacity: Maximum 256GB.
- USB Drive/HDD Capacity: Maximum 4TB.
- File System Support: FAT, FAT32, NTFS.
Bluetooth Connection
- As Receiver: Navigate to [Main Interface - Wireless Settings - Bluetooth Settings] and turn on Bluetooth to connect to your smartphone or other audio source. The M50 can act as a Bluetooth receiver for wireless audio playback.
- As Transmitter: The M50 can also transmit audio to Bluetooth headphones or speakers.
- Hiby Link Note: When using Hiby Link, the standard Bluetooth connection for audio streaming must be disabled in the [Bluetooth Settings].
Airplay/DLNA Wireless Playback
- Navigate to [Main Interface - Wireless Settings - WiFi Settings] and connect the M50 to your Wi-Fi network.
- In [WiFi Settings], enable either Airplay or DLNA functionality as needed.
- Connect your smartphone or tablet to the same Wi-Fi network as the M50.
- For iOS Devices: Tap the Airplay icon within your music app and select the M50 as the audio output device.
- For Android Devices: Open a DLNA-compatible music app and select the M50 as the receiving device.
- Once connected, music played on your mobile device will stream to the M50. Playback control (play, pause, next, previous) is managed via your mobile device.
USB-OTG Output
The M50 features USB-OTG output capabilities, allowing it to send audio signals to compatible external USB DACs or devices.
SPDIF/IIS Output
The M50 provides SPDIF (Optical/Coaxial) and IIS output options. These can be selected via [Main Interface - Playback Settings - Output Mode].
Output Priority
The device prioritizes audio outputs in the following order: Bluetooth > IIS > USB-OTG > SPDIF. If using USB-OTG output, ensure IIS output is not selected.
Advanced Features
Hiby Link
Access Hiby Link via [Main Interface - Wireless Settings - Bluetooth Settings - Hiby Link]. Enable Hiby Link on both the M50 and the Hiby Music APP on your smartphone. Once connected, your phone can remotely control the M50, including volume adjustment, track skipping, and playlist management, while accessing the M50's music library.
Equalizer (EQ) Settings
Access EQ settings via [Main Interface - Playback Settings - Equalizer]. You can select from various presets: Off, Custom, Metal, Blues, Vocal, Dance, Pop, Jazz, Classical, and Rock. For the "Custom" mode, you can adjust individual frequency bands using the navigation buttons. Press "Confirm" to save your settings.
Firmware Upgrade
To upgrade the firmware, download the latest firmware file to the root directory of your TF card. Then, navigate to [Main Interface - System Settings - Firmware Upgrade] on the M50 and select the firmware file to begin the upgrade process.
IIS Settings
Advanced IIS settings can be configured under [Main Interface - Playback Settings - IIS Phase/IIS DSDR/DSD Flag]. Options include IIS Phase (STD/REV) and DSD Flag (Pin15/Pin14).
